I have several times posted references to James "Scotty" Reston's first-hand account of his good friend President John F. Kennedy's meeting with Premier Khrushchev in Vienna in 1961.

The meeting was a disaster for the U.S. of A. owing to the fact that Kennedy left the meeting with a vow to prove to the Russians that he was a man.

At the time there were two major venues: Berlin and South Viet Nam. Kennedy chose Viet Nam.

So yes, Obama is right to compare himself to JFK. IMO.

He's no John Kennnedy. Kennedy recognized Communism was a mortal threat to American freedom. Obama has yet to acknowledge Islamofascism in our day is a mortal threat to American freedom.

Under the gun, "The Orator" sucks. It goes to "control".

When he can prepare a manipulative "empty" speech, he does well. There is a certain "grabbing" in his tone. But shake the podium...and he becomes unbalanced. His tone changes. His demeanor changes. His FACE changes. I'd say the guy is subject to "long periods of rage".....which goes with the followers of Wright.

I think this quote is more damning, since he can't squirm out of it by saying, "Oh but I was saying Iran wasn't as serious a threat as the Soviet Union."

I mean, if Iran ever tried to pose a serious threat to us they wouldn't stand a chance.

It's sad that this guy is like a worm when it comes to what he says: mindless squirming in an intellectual world of muck.
