One of the 11 potential Senate losses that I cited earlier this evening.

This is the third poll showing Dole struggling to stay ahead. To paraphrase Tom Hanks, “Raleigh, we’ve got a problem.”

Liddy should have stuck to her guns.
She did a pathetic job running the ‘06 Campaign.
RINOS gotta go.

Due to the result of the last 8 years of no conservative movement leadership at the top of the Republican party, the politicians who are on the ballot this year, like in 06, are left to the wolves. Somebody should start a “Free Beer” party, and all of these republicans can switch to that party for the upcoming elections to avoid a crushing defeat.

When you think about it NC senate races are always competitive.

NC has a habit of sending Senators packing. Liddy may be the next victim.

Dollars-to-doughnuts that Dole will win with at least the obligatory 52% that Helms always got and that Burr got in 2004. 2008 is a presidential year (the last time the RATs won a Senate race in NC in a presidential year was Sam Ervin’s final reelection in 1968), and while Obama’s candidacy will boost Dem turnout in black areas, it will also boost GOP turnout in white areas (excluding white liberal areas, of course).

"NC has a habit of sending Senators packing. Liddy may be the next victim."

Actually, you're talking about the "cursed" seat. But that's the one Richard Burr holds, not the Dole seat. No Senator has been reelected to that seat since Sam Ervin in 1968.
