That argument is great if one has a time machine when dealing with the situation. In reality, the DFPS doesn’t have one, they have a report by the Texas Rangers of witnessing abuse when they went to check on the validity of the call. A court read the Texas Ranger’s affidavit and, based on that evidence, acted. Now we can see, yea, things could/should have been done differently (maybe), but telling the future is not something we have the luxury of. The Rangers and DFPS have to act on the information on hand at the time.
It will happen. Those people do not give up.
Yes, all pregnant girls under 18 in greater society who are pregnant due to their parents forcing them into relationships with much older men should be taken away from their parents immediately. Yes.
They do that on a case by case bases based on reports. At that, a friend of mine who is a DA hates the CPS because he is concerned too many of these children are returned to these abusive households. CPS faults on both sides of these types issue. These types of situations, there is no way anyone can win.
This will be appealed to the Texas Supreme Court. Perhaps there will also be an appeal to the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. For those of you unfamiliar with the Texas court system, Texas actually has two supreme courts. The Texas Supreme Court hears appeals of civil cases, and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals hears appeals of criminal cases.
They have to follow the law when they do it.
And after the kids are sent back to the moms, the moms will groom them to be raped by pedophiles...
Yep, isn’t justice grand?
Ed
Hmmm, me and a hole bunch of others were called rapists, yeasterday someone was called slaver.
I’m pissed, and I’m going to look for apologies.
>>What is the solution to forced marriage of 12-year-olds?>>
Donna, you assume their beliefs are yours. We know even less about their beliefs than about DCS’s tyrranical beliefs. Too far away to judge, other than to say adults with kids is wrong. Kids with kids, on their own, is NOT illegal.
haha! i like to show these types of writings to my grammar students... examples of what not to do... the sad thing is, i find most of these examples in headlines and news articles--written by professionals...
Right.
Send them back to the rapists and their enablers.
Do we or do we not have laws against underage marriage to multiple husbands in Texas? If we do not, then fine - send them back to hell. If we do, the state had every right to remove those kids from their stepford moms forever.
Even anonymous reports. They take those very seriously!
Yes it is...this case was based on a sham.
FINALLY, some sanity interjected in this police state action. American citizens do have rights, even when most (including me) do not approve of their living arrangements
Now maybe the proper authorities will give some thought to how to approach these polygamous situation without punishing children and violating the rights of hundreds.
Well, what I’m reading on CNN says...
The state’s Department of Family and Protective Services “did not present any evidence of danger to the physical health or safety of any male children or any female children who had not reached puberty,” the judges ruled.
So the court is saying that only female children who have reached puberty were in immediate danger.
I think the court is naive. If female children who have reached puberty are in danger, then I think that is sufficient evidence that the rest of the children are in danger as well.
The court system does work...... If they screwed the pooch, either start over and do it correctly or drop it and pay restitution. Let’s see if there is an appeal and how it may turn out.
Forced marriages, sanctioned sex with minors isn’t right but their is a legal process and it must be followed.
I don’t see the proof of the mothers forcing children into abuse by the men, except perhaps while being coerced. Does that unequivocal proof exist and would you post it here? Coercion of females in cults is very common.
Imagine that.
“The state has found zero abuse”
There were so many bizarre and misleading stories planted. The “broken bones”, the bed at the altar, etc.
Of course the worst was the story made up by that mentally ill woman in Colorado that started this all.
