What utter nonsense :
... it has in fact turned out to be twice as high as that recorded over the whole of the previous century...
Who did that? Where did they measure? How can you measure such a thing? What about waves?
Two inches difference versus one inch over the previous 100 years?

Nah.

I'll grant them the use of “averages” and “tidal averaging” to smooth out the waves and lunar-solar-Jupiteroil effects..... (At least, I'll hope they get those right.)

But the drop in seacoast elevation is unknown - some land areas are rising, some falling. We “hope” that this mangrove area is stable. It might not be.

Overall however, the 1/2 of ONE degree rise in atmospheric temperature since 1970 “might” have increased ocean temperature by a somewhat lessor amount: but 1/2 of one degree itself won't change water density very much.

To assume a 3.4 centimeter rise is a bit of a stretch, since they are attributing it SOLELY to global warming by the words in the article.

12Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
