Their understanding of ‘liberal’ is different from ours. For them, most if not all MSM are part of big business, which by definition is against working class people.

I've heard this reasoning also, but it is mostly hogwash.

I used to work at a company where vice-presidents and some of the highest paid individuals sound like Karl Marx when talking politics. Some in their spare time even join leftist, if not darn near Communist organizations.

So just because a business or person makes money, it really has no bearing on their political slant.
