Fashion Crime - Rachael Ray, Dunkin’ Donuts, and the Keffiyeh Kerfuffle.
National Review Online ^ | May 28, 2009 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 05/28/2008 4:29:17 PM PDT by rmlew

I’ve been a fan of Dunkin’ Donuts for years. Their Munchkins are heaven. Their coffee is better and cheaper than Starbucks. And the company’s management has taken a brave and lonely stand in support of immigration enforcement — refusing to hire illegal aliens and blowing the whistle on applicants with bogus Social Security numbers.

So it was with some dismay that I learned last week that Dunkin’ Donuts spokeswoman Rachael Ray, the ubiquitous TV hostess, posed for one of the company’s ads in what appeared to be a black-and-white keffiyeh.

The keffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men that has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad. Popularized by Yasser Arafat and a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists appearing in beheading and hostage-taking videos, the apparel has been mainstreamed by both ignorant (and not so ignorant) fashion designers, celebrities, and left-wing icons.

Urban Outfitters is evil. Howver the rot among our elite is just sad. It used to be that they were overtly patriotic. Now even so-called conservatives like Meghan McCain will wear a keffiyeh.

We could fix all of this if government was truly of, for and by the people, but it isn’t, unless, of course, you are a Judge.

I agree on their coffee. I used to commute weekly between Vermont and NYC, and I always got a cup of coffee at the Dunkin Donuts in Fort Edward before the long, late night drive home, to help me stay awake. Their coffee was reliably superb.

I fail to see the problem here, as Rachel Ray is usually tastefully dressed. :-)

Perhaps so, but a Muslim co-worker who just saw it on my screen, fell to his knees facing Mecca and began reciting something in Arabic. /sarc

First Rush now Malkin. Can we retire the shark tank for a while? I don’t want Hannity tempted to strap on skis for an attempted jump.

The scarf she’s wearing does not appear to have that traditional “fishnet” design.

It seems like an ugly checkered-motif scarf to me. Even if it's keffiyeh, which I don't think it is, so what? Are we becoming so insecure now that we don't want people to wear anything that the Arabs, the Chinese, or the Venezuelan wear?

I looked the name up on wiki--found this..." For example, the slang "keffiyeh kinderlach" refers to young left-wing Jews, particularly college students, who sport a keffiyeh around the neck as a political/fashion statement. "

Thought that pithy. Maybe that's what we should be calling the Soros types--Keffiyeh Kinderlachen.

In healthy countries, the media elite do not wear symbolic garb of the enemy. It is propogadistic treason.

I happened to see the same scarf in the Urban Outfitters store down the street just yesterday, it is, in fact, just__an__ugly__scarf.

Wow, you are obtuse. The Danish Government did not publish the articles.
There is nothing wrong with calling corporations and media personalities on what is at best stupidity.

I'm almost always with Michelle Malkin, but I agree with you here.

Sometimes a scarf is just a scarf.
