The company that published Scott McClellan’s new Bush-bashing book is Public Affairs Books, and their Editor at Large is a guy named Peter Osnos: About The Century Foundation.
The owner of Public Affairs Books is a company called Perseus Book Group. Here’s their ownership tree: Perseus Books Home.
The firm is owned by Perseus Funds Group, (holding company Perseus LLC) a capital management firm that grew from about $20 million in 1995 to over $2 billion now. Big infusions of cash seemed to help it grow exponentially and it closed funds almost as fast as it opened them. The board has tons of liberals from the Clinton and Carter Administrations with credentials that almost put Osnos’ to shame as far as far left causes go. If you go to the New York Department of State web site and enter “Perseus” in the “Business Organization” search, you get this on page 2 of the results:

I am not surprised that Bush has made another bone headed decision to have the guy on his staff. Bush has had, and still has, several closet liberals on his staff, and many of them have come back to bite him in the ass. He never learns. He keeps thinking that he can make nice with these people. That has been one of his biggest mistakes that he continues to make time and time again.
Think any Pubbies will have the stones to ask about this at the hearings.

Doesn’t shock me. I recall his tenure and scratching my head at what I felt was hedging unnecessarily on certain things.
Well, what can you do. He’s paid by a Soros group. Like this is any surprise. Socialists and commies have a lot of capitalist money to spend on fellow travelers. He’s a mortal like anyone else, may his communist chains lay lightly and history forget that he was our countryman.
That he did not shows that the issues he raises are almost certainly complete fabrications, and that he definitely has no honor.

But it's hard to defend what you don't believe in. And if you're press secretary and don't believe in the administration you serve, it's dishonest to stick around.
That's is the absoulte truth. He just never did "get it."
It often seems like he wants the esteem of treacherous leftists more than that of those who elected and supported him. How smart does one have to be to know you can kiss a snakes ass all day and it's still going to bite you.

I wondered from the time I saw that fat little pos at the podium why he had that job. He was absolutely awful at it. I guess he was planted there by someone with deep pockets and sinister intentions. George Soros strikes again.
The sad fact is that Osnos, once a very good reporter for the Wash. Post in Vietnam, has gone off the deep Left end. Some of his comments in the past few years raises serious doubts about his credibility.
Why he has changed, I don’t know, but he is not the Osnos that I read so religiously during the Vietnam war.

Precisely! We get them in my overwhelmingly Republican county all the time - - rats who want to get elected know that they must be "Republican" to ever make it happen. So they switch registration but remain putrid rats at heart.
Unfortunately, that strategy is pretty much a one-way street since few Republicans ever want to live in, or get elected in, a rat's nest. Rat's tend to vacate their own nests after fouling them and move on to new climes to foul.

Why Scott McClellan was ever chosen for Press Secretary in the first place, was always a wonder to me. Fleischer said he was accepting of his job, no qualms given.
MR. FLEISCHER: Well, that’s what really struck me is if Scott thought it was propaganda, then Scott should not have accepted the job as White House press secretary. If Scott viewed what the White House was saying was so irresponsible or wrong that it rose to the level of propaganda for him, it’s not a job he should have accepted. He should on principle have declined it.
MR. CHADWICK: Did you have any discussions with him about this at the time about what you all were saying about the war in Iraq, about getting ready for it?
MR. FLEISCHER: I did, and Scott was 100 percent fully on-board. Scott helped me prepare for the briefings. Scott and I would talk about what I was going to say. His job should have been to report them to me. He worked for me. He should have said, I wouldn’t say that if I were you, Ari. Or, I’m not sure I could say that, Ari.

Mine, too. I am a Republican officer in my county, and I have outed several turncoats, and done my best to derail their political careers.
We only have only democrat elected to countywide office. We also only have one Republican official that I think still has democrat tendencies.
How embarrassing for Scotty.

MR. FLEISCHER....after Scott left the White House, he went on TV shows and defended President Bush and the war. So I don’t know what changed so dramatically for Scott in the last few months, several months, that led him to write a book that was so different from everything I saw about Scott personally and privately.
Something changed. And there are parts of this book that just don’t sound like Scott. Scott, to me, will always be a friend and somebody who I always relied on. And I don’t know what could have led him to have such a dramatic change of heart.
And I talked to Scott yesterday.
MR. CHADWICK: You did?
MR. FLEISCHER: Yeah, and Scott and I remain close. And that’s one of the reasons I’m so heartbroken about this. Scott told me that this book really did change. And he said this book ended up a lot different from the way it got started. He told me he didn’t know if he could write a book like this a year ago.
MR. CHADWICK: So when this story broke, you called him and spoke with him.
MR. FLEISCHER: Well, actually, I called Scott because Scott and I frequently – we periodically have kept in touch ever since he left the White House. And when Scott and I, we got together – gosh –a year and a half ago for breakfast. And I remember talking to Scott about the book and he told me how good it was going to be for President Bush.
