TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- A Florida woman who is considered to be the world's oldest driver got her license renewed until 2011.
Lillian Cox, 101, said she has been driving since 1915 and continues to travel around Tallahassee in her 1984 sedan.
"They're surprised that I'd get a driver's license at 101," Cox said. "But I have four more years."
"I'm sure I look (101 years old) but they don't let me know that," Cox said while driving around a neighborhood.
Cox has been invited to the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno."
She said she hopes the show picks her up in a limo.
LOL! You go, Grandma!!!!!!!!
Wonder if Jay would trust her driving one of his vintage cars.
Wow! She looks fantastic! Not a day over 70...
Driving in NYC is a lot different than driving around Tallahassee. I hope they pick her up in a Limo too. That’s a great picture of her. She doesn’t look anywhere near 101 years old.
Left or Right?

which of her turn signals does she prefer to leave on? < /s >
Wow! She doesn’t even have to wear glasses!
I support her effort to continue carrying a driver’s license as we move to requiring a photo ID for so many transactions these days.
And she does look younger than her years.
I know someone who’s 104. He’s slowed down since he turned 102 but he’s still sharp.
I know! If we could all be as lucky to look 30 years younger than our age.
Wow, that’s pretty amazing. Good for her.
Anyone remember the SOUTH PARK episode called “Grey Dawn”?
I’d look 7 and couldn’t buy alcohol...SO not worth it! :)
Sun City Center FL had a 102 year-old man get his license renewed for six years...two weeks before he plowed through an intersection into a hair salon. He begged the LEO to keep his license, explaining he needed to drive his 82 year-old son who had lost his driver’s license.
Heck, I know women at 60 that don’t look that good!

Yep, but Tallahassee does have many extremely steep ditches running parallel with the roads. I've seen my fair share of cars standing perpendicular on their side in ditches there. The ditches are needed to stave off the near flash flooding of summer storms in the very hilly town.
Wish it were that easy. My mom just turned 84 and I was riding with her through the gorge where the speed limit is 45 and 55. She has a fake knee, can't turn her head from side to side, has cataracts ready to be removed next month and a fold on one of her retinas. I looked over and she was going 83 through the mountains. We're passing EVERYONE and my knuckles are turning white.
I talked to her about it later and she got mad at me. Said that she has the responses of a teenager. During the ride, the song lyrics that go, "There's nothing between my soul and my Saviour" kept coming to mind.
I told her that my sister said that when it was time to take her license away from her, it was my job to do since I am the 'older' sister. I told mom that and she looked me right in the eye and said, "GOOD LUCK!". She was dead serious.
I’m concerned about the NYC drivers running into her, not the other way around. I’d hate to see her lose her life at this point over someone else’s poor driving.

She looks more like 81. Or younger even.
Probably drives better than these damn Middle Eastern and Hispanic women around here.
