I agree that he's going to make himself eat a bullet at some point down the road. But it won't be out of guilt ... it'll be when he realizes that all the $$$$$ he was expecting out of this book will go to pay high-priced DC lawyers to save his a** him when he's handed a subponea to appear before Congress, rather than funding his early retirement.

I called for him to be replaced and I still think he was the worst Press Secretary of the bunch. He allowed the story to be about him instead of getting the President’s message out. It isn’t any surprise that he has taken his current approach. I do think that someone in the White House should have managed this better but in reality does anyone really care what Scott McCellan says now that he isn’t Press Secretary? Not really. He’ll have his day in the sun but he’ll find himself a fairly lonely person after this. Maybe the left will knight him but do they really want the entirely forgettable Scott McClellen?

He had worked for Dubya in TX too. I assume he got involved there via his mother, Carol Strayhorn, who was a high govt official--treasurer or comptroller or some financial position, I am not sure what the vernacular is down there. She recently ran for governor as an independent.

Bush has always had a problem with cronyism. Looks like it bit him in the butt again.
