So when she saw the pic of Obama in the turban, she swore she could never vote for him. She said she would vote for McCain. That now makes 10 for 10 white Democrats I have spoke to (in CT) who said they will either not vote or vote for McCain.

That is not entirely true. It is the price of gas that is doing that. It is true that the opposing party statistically wins if the economy is in a downturn. Also, there are lots of intangibles at play in the BHO candidacy. McCain is a problem candidate for the Republicans, but Obama is softer than Kerry because of his huge negatives. A lot softer.
