BILL CLINTON ADMITS IN PRIVATE: SEAT HALF THE DELEGATES
Drudge Report ^ | May 31, 2008 | YouTube: gyoung435123

"The republicans, they did something very different. They said: 'Ok, you guys were on the line, our party will provide, that, that we can seat you but you only have half a delegate for your elected delegates, and your super-delegates will be seated as full votes."

"Our rules provide for exactly the same thing, and we didn't do that.

"Then she said: 'OK, well, give 'em another election.' And he said 'no'. I mean, basically he instructed his supporters from [this] election to kill any attempt to have a re-vote."

"So, probably the only option now is to seat them under the rules of half delegates..."

Per the entry on You Tube: Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Westglow Spa in Blowing Rock, NC. Clinton says seating FL and MI at half delegates is most practical solution.

Well, who would've guessed?

Frankly I think the only just action would have been a revote, but the Dems didn’t want to pay for it. Add Obama to the ballot in Michigan and suddenly the race changes. How many people voted Hillary because they felt an “uncommitted” was a waste and ran the risk of being a vote for Hillary in the long run anyway?

As for Florida, well, both of them violated the “no campaign” promise, just to different degrees. Personally I feel Hillary’s violation was more blatant since she just happened to schedule fund raisers, that she said weren’t campaigning, leading up to the election. To me, set foot in the state, getting press coverage, and meeting with potential voters and you are campaigning. Obama’s argument there is weaker though since his mass media buys just happened to include Florida stations (sorry Barry, I am willing to bet they’d have negotiated excluding those stations).

If the party wants to admit their original stance was inappropriate (which is debatable) it’s a lot easier to justify seating Florida than Michigan. Only one of the 2 candidates played dirty pool in Michigan. I don’t see justification for seating ANY Michigan delegates.

For anyone who's interested:

Obama used party rules to foil Clinton

I'm of the opinion that those delegates be counted... No matter what it costs :-)

The delicious, savory, long lasting irony here is that Obama is about to be “Selected” and “Not Elected”. Who is selling the T-shirts and bumper stickers? Almost every stupid slogan thought up by the left about the Florida situation in 2000 applies to this situation except for one significant point. This time it is actually TRUE.

They also didn’t want to open it up to Operation Chaos.

Plus, do I recollect that Hussien was not on the ballot
in one of those states? What would be done about that?

Can, contents: Worms
Quantity and variety unknown.

Denver08 = Chicago68 + Miami72
... with any luck.

They could have easily avoided Operation Chaos by implementing rules requiring you to have been registered at a date making switching virtually minimal if even possible, plus (and nobody really wants to hear this) the main impact hasn’t really been as massive as we’d like to believe. A lot of “Republicans” have been supporting Obama, probably out of their own version of liberal guilt. Operation chaos has only served to offset that support with a very small margin in favor of Hillary.

The beauty of this is that Hillary was beaten by her own rules. The smartest woman in the world buried herself. She may laugh at Father Pfleger, but his assessment of her was dead-on.

Where but the liberal democratic party could you find a voting system that accords 'superdelegates', where some are 'more equal than others'?

Whatever else happens this election season, it's worth it just to see that woman eat a big bowl of STFU and GO HOME.
