All in all, in this age of “blockbusters,” $27 million ain’t that great. The Spiderman movies took in over $50 million their opening weekends, and Indian Jones is closing in on $400 million.
Am I the only one in America who never saw so much as one episode of this series?

No, you aren’t. Neither I, nor anyone in my family has ever see even one minute of this liberal femi-crap.
This was just *1* day though. That’s amazingly good. Beat Indiana Jones even.
It won’t have legs, after this weekend it probably drops 80%, everyone who wants to see it will see it this weekend.
The problem they may have is that summer blockbusters rely on repeat business, and the demo of Skanks in the City is not one known for repeat viewing in theaters.
I expect a strong opening weekend and a pretty quick dropoff.
I saw a couple and all it did was reinforce my general distrust in American women that came from a couple of bad relationships.
The fact it is so popular among so many women hasn’t done much to restore that trust either.
If this is what women in this country aspire to be, I can see the appeal of mail order brides.
I know about the series from articles I’ve read. I don’t know any woman that behaves like that IRL - even the young single ones. I certainly don’t take the Hollywood/NYC/HBO version of people as reality. That would be like assuming that all Italian men are like Tony Soprano, that struggling young New Yorkers all have huge, professionally decorate apartments and crimes are always solved so easily and within a short time frame. I would never think that TV sitcoms and series are related in any way to the every day life of people like me.
Ok, now *that* I would go see!
The 27 million is for one day. To compare Indiana Jones had 25 million its opening day. I won’t be adding to that total. It was posted here that the show was really about how gay men talk to each other only with women cast in the parts. That squares with what I saw when I watched it for a couple minutes.

If you liked the series you’ll enjoy the movie. Ignore the reviews. I went with my friend this afternoon and we loved it.
It is good when they thought it would do $25m for the weekend.

Doubtful it'll hold on. Depend on how many teenagers go see it today. Yesterday was probably the day all the working ladies saw it after work.
