You know, if I'm the Democrats are looking at this, I'm saying... They gotta know they're sitting on top of a powder keg here, and somebody in this party -- Howard Dean or somebody -- has gotta send somebody up to this church and say, "Well, you people take the next five months off, or move this congregation somewhere? Move it to Reverend Wright's house -- it's in a gated community -- so nobody can know what you're doing in there. Just give us five months, will you, and shut up!" You know, the Clintons are -- make no mistake about it -- making hay out of this, as they lobby the rules committee and so forth.

if there really IS a tape like this, the way that it will be discredited immediately is for it to appear on Fox News first or for Hannity or some other Republican to come out with it.

If there IS a tape (and I pray that there is evidence of Michelle being Michelle on tape), it should be leaked to Brian Ross or Katie Couric via somebody who has their own interest - like a Clinton supporter - and not from anybody in the GOP or John McCain will get blamed for it and he will become a racist despite his predictable denials and repudiation of the evidence as ‘partisan’ and ‘political’.

But in my history, the only october suprises which have ever existed were ones which sabotaged the GOP. I can’t think of a single one of any importance which the GOP ever came up with against a democrat.

The Bush DUI three days before the 2000 election? The Lawrence Walsh indictments two weeks before the 1992 elections? The NYT phony story about explosives unguarded in Iraq in the hands of terrorist in Oct 2004? Mark Foley supposedly diddling pages in Sept-Oct 2006 (still no there there)? Every four years at least there is some major democratic timebomb waiting for the GOP nominee but nothing for Gore, Kerry, Clinton, Dukakis, Mondale.

Maybe payback will be a bitch (named Michelle).
