Technically he's right. Come January in a joint session of Congress Vice President Cheney will open the envelopes from the 51 Electoral College meetings in the 50 states and the District of Columbia and announce who got the largest number of votes for president.
Of course the results will have been predicted ever since the public voted to choose the Electoral College slates back in November, so it will be rather anticlimactic.

No, there is not one election in November, there are 51 separate elections, one in each state and one in the District of Columbia. Those elections are for electors, not for the president. The electors cast their votes in December and the totals for each candidate for president and vice president are certified by the electors and sent to Washington where they are held until after the new Congress is sworn in in January. Technically, we do not know who will be the president until those certificates are opened and tallied in a joint session of Congress.
If no candidate receivea a majority of the votes (270 electoral votes), the House choses the president on a one-state, one-vote ballot with 26 state votes required. That may happen in January or it may happen in February or in March depending upon the makeup of the individual House delegations.
Technically, McCain is correct, he will be declared the winner in January.

Don’t forget about the DEMOniCRATS legal army waiting in the wings to litigate the election results any way it can.

I agree. Obama is such a flawed candidate on so many levels. I think it could actually turn ugly for Obama come election night.
Democrats will do really well in Congressional races however, lots of extra racist Democrats will be rushing to the polls to keep Obama out.

We vote for Electors in November.
The Electors vote for President and Vice-President in December.
The results are officially announced in January.

I guess this means he thinks he will still be sorta / kinda alive in January?

At least he didn’t claim that his uncle defeated Admiral Rozhestvensky in the battle of Tsushima.

We will still be counting and recounting ballots in January; that is how Democrats conduct elections, at least that is how they do it in Washington State.

The rumors about him signing with the New York Giants are true, then?

Ummm . . isn’t the election in November? Just the beauty pagent. The Electoral College meets in all the state capitols in December, and the results sent to the US Capitol by US Mail. The results are tabulated and reported by the President of the Senate in January after the new congress is sworn in. So technically McCain is correct.
Of course if no candidate wins a majority in the Electoral College, then the President will be chosen by the House of Representatives with each state delegation having one vote.

McCain is merely predicting a continuation of the Dim policy since 2000 of litigating election losses. So he may be right, it will only be over in January, if then.
