Well, today is supposed to be the day the big, huge, bad, devastating, apocalyptic, {insert-dire-adjective-here} political "bombshell" is supposed to drop on Senator The Obama's head.
Which... um... (looking around)...so far, no "boom."
So I am proposing we mount a "Bombshell Watch."
And thus, I make the first log entry:
6:13am PT — so far, no "boom"

I was just wondering if there was a time yet established for this ‘bombshell’ to hit the airwaves.

Obombo is over an hour late for his speech on foreign policy before AIPAC...mmmm is it the Mama Obama rant or the tape of Obama’s comments overseas? Will he take questions from the press? Did Jeremiah Wright sell the tape for a million dollars? The wheels of the bus go round and round...
When this comes out, the real damage is going to be less obvious than what Freepers expect. I doubt there is any “whitey” nonsense on there. Even Farrakhan knows better than to use that language (usually). What is likely to be on, based entirely on previous comments, is a diatribe against America, against Bush, against the private sector, and placing the blame for everything on oppression, etc.
It would be stupid timing for Republican camp to break this until about 2 weeks before the general election.
It seems to late for the Clinton camp to leak this out now.
That leaves the Obama camp. Put it out now blame the Republicans and assume it will be forgotten by November. I'd wait for the perfect moment if I were them.

And if there’s a tape released but it doesn’t have the ‘whitey’ diatribe, we’ll know it was purely a planned Democrat release/inoculation—like Bubba’s supposed ranting in his taped testimony, and other such exaggerated pre-releases.

I can’t help but wonder, if the bombshell does exist and if Hill has it, that maybe “the private meeting” that they are suppose to have tonight is when she will use it.
We can all raise a cheek and let it go.

As the story goes, that’s how it starts... But the audience gets excited, and Michelle gets into a groove. And she gets on a really good tear, one that even Rev Wright would admire.
Remember when all the Lefties on the net were sure that Karl Rove was about to be indicted? Then we all laughed at them when thier “Fitzmas” was runined? I hope this isn’t like that.

That’s actually not true. My fraternity brothers and I used to play a drinking game to the Farrakhan broadcast (shown on public television in New Orleans on Monday nights) and drink every time he said something racist, anti-semetic, or sexist. His show was so over the top/hilarious...
He once ranted for about 30 minutes on how the mosque he visited in Iran didn’t clean the toliets properly...30 minutes about unclean Iranian toliets!!!

It would be stupid to use the video now. I believe there is a video, but I don’t believe we’ll see it until right around election day. It’s now believed this tape will destroy Obama’s chances, so allowing Clinton to have time to take his place would be foolishness.
My impression is that there is a video. Too many people have been laying groundwork in advance of its release. There was Bob Beckel yesterday, and the columnist for the Chicago paper who asked rhetorically, What’s Obama going to do when they attack Michelle? Too much gab from too many directions to believe that a video doesn’t exist.
Additionally, there have been no denials from anyone attached, or remotely attached, to the Obama campaign. If the Obama camp was sure there was nothing out there, they would be on the airwaves scoffing at the story.

9:30ish on the East Coast...is there an actual optimum time to release a newsy bomb? Before lunch, after lunch? Mid afternoon? What the latest a boom can go off and still make the evening news?
Hate to say it, but I think you’re right about that.
Even if it was a rant on the magnitude of the “Cill My Landlord” sketch from SNL, the true believers will easily and simply dismiss all of it. The excuses they give will be as shocking as this mythical tape.
Guess I better brew another pot of coffee... This could be a loooooong day.....

Evening news is so last century. With CNN and Fox and MSNBC and 24 hour coverage I would think the earlier the better. Give it an entire day's worth of news cycles.

IF there is a cataclysmic (ooh! new adjective!) revelation, and if it’s made today, and if it ends up ruining Obama’s candidacy...
...THINK of the “sympathy factor” and the lowered-expectations the Donks would reap! Whoever they put up would get even more of a “pass” than usual.
Well let’s see...Clinton and Obama are scheduled to speak live this morning at AIPAC- so I guess it depends on how long or how important those speeches are considered.
I’d think before lunch is best- plenty of time to get the afternoon talk-radio and cable shows fired up..
But while the hype continues- it’s all quiet on the Tape Dump Front.
