I have the utmost respect for Dr. Sowell but I don’t think people are going to believe that once Iran has a bomb, American cities are going to start blowing up. The left will easily blow off this kind of stuff as fear mongering...like we’ve heard before they’ll say and people will believe them. Don’t get me wrong, I DO think Iran, if at all possible, will distribute nuclear technology to it’s asymmetrical terrorist armies. But the key question is when will they be able to do that and what can they distribute. Getting their first nuke isn’t going to put them in the position to pass out nukes like AK-47s. On the other hand, dirty bombs and the like may become more common and THAT might be enough to again waken the sleeping giant.
Nope. Once Iran gets the bomb, ITS cities are going to start blowing up, courtesy of Israel. No way Israel does not launch a first strike to prevent a nuclear attack on Tel Aviv or Haifa. Then the sh!t will really hit the fan. We haven’t seen an actual nuclear war, but we will if Iran gets nukes.

Once Iran tests a nuke, it needs only to say that it has another in a large US city, that it may not detonate if we do what they say.
The Obamas, Clintons, Schumers, Pelosis of the left would roll-over obediently, and meet with them to discuss terms of a "peaceful" solution (surrender by stages?) and call it a very fair outcome.

I agree with your comments about dirty bomb in the U.S., that is only a matter of time. It is more likely Islam would use a direct nuclear device on Paris or Tel Aviv.
Location of smuggling such a device still very much matters and the impact of Paris or Tel Aviv going up would ingite a significant nuclear exhchange, enough to create severe depression conditions in the West as a whole. In all the facts on the ground it appears radical Islam is just a puppet entity supported by China and Russia. Once there job of weakening the West has been sufficiently accomplished, we will see these two nations begin to make moves.
I believe after November the President will get something done in Iran before the new POTUS comes in.

Professor Sowell isn't talking to "the left" - he's talking to you. He's saying that if you live in a state that might go to McCain, in an election in which the issue was in doubt, you should consider no option but voting McCain.As for me, I live in NY - there is essentially no possibility of my state's going for McCain unless McCain is winning by a landslide in the rest of the country. Therefore I have a free vote; I'll vote for anyone you suggest - it simply doesn't matter.
But if you live in Ohio - or Florida or Pennsylvania or Michigan or Virginia - your duty is to vote for McCain. Painful tho it be.
I’ve received two prophecies from people I trust who say that there are 7 cities in the US targeted and probably already have nuclear bombs in them. I wouldn’t be so sure about American cities not blowing up. I think we’re on dangerous ground.
Our choices will be to give in to whatever the terrorists demand — however outrageous those demands might be — or to risk seeing American cities start disappearing in radioactive mushroom clouds.They have already telegraphed their intention to dictate to us with such things as Osama bin Laden’s threats to target those places in America that did not vote the way he prescribed in the 2004 elections. He could not back up those threats then but he may be able to in a very few years.
Our one window of opportunity to prevent this will occur within the term of whoever becomes president of the United States next January.
Dr. Sowell didn't say American Cities will immediately be Nuked. He said one window of opportunity to prevent Nuclear blackmail by Iran or Terrorists will occur in the next Presidential term.
If we allow a weak President to be elected, his appeasement will allow us to be broken down morally by threats and then eventually be devastated by nuclear bombs. I believe Obama would welcome this and hasten our destruction.
