This has turned into Short Creek, AZ, all over again.
The bottom line is that yes, abusive and illegal behavior was going on there. And that when you bust up something like that you have to have your ducks in a row ahead of time, and do everything by the numbers.
In the military, a screw up like this would be blamed on “PPPP”, and a lot of officers involved would have been relieved for incompetence. And a lot of NCOs for not stepping in and telling the officers they were screwing up.
As it is, injustice abounds. The innocent will be punished and the guilty will get away. Lawyers will have a field day, and the resulting embarrassment will allow other crimes like this to go unpunished in the future.
Things like this is why government agencies like law enforcement is no longer believed.
Not sure if they are just confused or thought they would make their case better by distorting facts.
First, we learned that these underage pregnant women were actually adults — in one case a 27 year old woman.
Actually first thing we learned was that they were raided on a warrant for a woman who dose not exist who was being abused by a man not there.
“When they couldn’t present any more supporting evidence, the Texas Supreme Court handed down the equivalent of a condemnation to CPS and a stern word or two for the judge who had allowed the action against the FLDS families.”
That ‘judge’ shouldn’t be a judge in any courtroom.
I just can’t get over it that some FReepers were pro-raid and rounding up all the children at gunpoint. It just blows my mind.
“When CPS and its henchmen crashed the FLDS compound with tanks and machine guns, it was a lowly moment in religious freedom within the United States. Anyone with a brain could have fashioned a more measured approach.”
Oh, no, they went and called it a tank again.
Just like the Branch Davidians. Kooks? Yep. Criminals? Less so than the ATF goons who murdered them.
Regardless of the merits of this particular case. I think this ruling will set the bar substantially higher for CPS in the future. The court echoed what the law says, that CPS has to demonstrate beyond a resonable doubt that Abuse and Neglect is occuring before they can come in and take children. For years CPS has been getting away with pushing the bar downward and they finally got slapped down for it and slapped down in such a public way that it should have national ramifications.
California has mandated reporters who file complaints anonymously against parents for just about any reason including revenge.
Mandated Reporters are anyone who comes in contact with a child at some point.
This includes for example school aids, one-on-one aids, teachers, janitors, principals, office staff and volunteers with the ability to file an anonymous complaint that could and usually does cost several thousand dollars in attorney fees.
We are not talking about molestation, sex abuse or physical abuse but frivolous assertions.
My wife Doc of OKIEDOC did not realize until coming to California just how Nazi like the CPS laws were in this state.
I have gone so far as to sign a petition asking that the United Nations investigate California CPS for human rights violations.
I do not support the FLDS but the actions of the CPS in this case only point up the dangers about what most should know before making posts in a public forum.
But they are serious. I don't know where that paper is from but since it is called the Beehive, I will assume it is from somewhere in Mormon Country. Not suprising that some Mormons have turned into Molester Defenders, after all their first Prophet molested 2 14 year old girls. Bird of a feather......
From the article: They should punish CPS to wear the badge of intolerance that they have so rightly earned. Every CPS member should have to wear a swastika for just a day to remind them of how easy it is to be part of a larger group that seems to be in the right in the sway and passion of the moment, only to be "found out" when the evidence comes rolling in.
Sounds like something the Danites would approve of.
Consider the source.

Oh gee, I thought you posted a vanity LeGrande. But you have to wonder how far polygamy is from the modern Mormon church when they pull out the stops to whitewash the FLDS with articles like this.
And using Nazi as part of the article attack logic is so lame, I just can’t quite remember who uses that same logic here? Maybe you can help us.
