Perhaps they thought if they tried to help him and he died, they would be sued

Several years ago, a pedestrian was hit in Tampa, and a very similar thing happened,
but a "Good Samaritan" did stop to lend assistance, only to have the older person die.
The next thing we heard on the news, the children of this older person were filling a
law suit on the "Good Guy"...

I'm not defending any of the non-good Samaritans here, just pointing out how we as a society
has changed from what most of us here at FR were raised to believe and do...sad to say

This country has become so litigious that it’s a wonder we even look each other in the eye anymore. Very sad state of affairs that support the idea that ‘no good deed should go unpunished.

Mrs. Mad believes I will die at the scene of an accident or at the hands of some punk in a line somewhere. I constantly stop to help a person in need or stop punks from cutting lines and/or shooting their mouths off in front of women and kids. She is probably right but so far they all back down. What really bothers me is the complete lack of back-up I get from others when I try to “do the right thing.”
