There is one in every crowd. This type of shill work goes back to the days of vaudeville.

A paid shill in the audience would start to sing along with the performer on the stage so that the crowd would think that the song was “popular” and fork over the 50 cents for the sheet music. They’d also pull this stunt at the bar around the corner from the hall (in pre-jukebox days).

Wouldn’t surprise me that a jealous act would also have someone jeer from the crowd now and then to knock someone off the bill/circuit.

I've noticed how he inappropriately pauses between words when giving speeches. He delivers choppy, cut-up sentences. It's as if his brain synapses are misfiring.
