Tom DeLay’s wife is supporting Bob Barr. Time to start forming Patti Davis support groups?
Third Party Watch ^ | June 7, 2008 | Stephen Gordon

According to the video below, former House Majority Leader Dick Armey has said that “many Republicans will vote for Libertarian candidates in House races.”

The Washington Times is reporting that former House Whip Tom DeLay’s wife plans to pull the Bob Barr lever on Election Day:

Tom DeLay will vote for John McCain but the former House Republican leader said his wife, Christine, is planning to vote for Libertarian presidential nominee Bob Barr.

“I’m trying to convince my wife not to do that,” the Texas Republican told editors and reporters at The Washington Times on Friday. “She said it publicly yesterday.”

I would not say that they “led the fight against it.” They got the labor union restrictions and the media restrictions thrown out as unconstitutional. The rest of us, though, are still prohibited from making any meaningful contribution to the political process. The result of their efforts was to tilt the system to the left, just what you would expect from a liberal organization.

You didn’t answer the question: “Why not vote for Obama?”

“SICK . . . TIRED . . . and . . . FED UP”

And I’m “SICK . . . TIRED . . . and . . . FED UP” with ‘real conservatives’ complaining about having to choose between the ‘lesser of two evils’.

NEWS FLASH! ‘THIS JUST IN!’ JESUS CHRIST ISN’T RUNNING!

All politicians are imperfect. Any vote you cast is a vote for the ‘lesser of two evils’.

Get used to it.
Get over it.
Quit complaining about it.

I don’t vote for liberals from EITHER party. Barack Obama is a nonstop flight to political and social perdition. John McCain is the same thing with a brief layover in purgatory. If you ask me whether I prefer to drink poison or concentrated poison I’m going to say a polite NO THANK YOU TO BOTH ! ! !

I take it that there is bad blood between McCain and Tom Delay. It sounds as though it is very personal, personal enough that Tom Delay’s wife hates McCain more than Tom.

When I walk into a restaurant and they tell me I have my choice of compost crepes or manure muffins and THAT’S IT ! ! ! I’m going to exercise my God given right to get up and leave the restaurant and go to Ruth’s Cris or some place that serves Allen Brother’s steaks. The RNC is already morally and ideologically bankrupt and IF THEY DON’T CHANGE THE MENU THEY WILL BE FINANCIALLY BANKRUPT and then we can replace them with something of better character.

I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to vote for Bob Barr or write in Fred Thompson

Don't write in anyone. That vote won't count and won't even be reported. If you're not going to vote for McCain, vote for Barr or Baldwin, whoever is on your ballot. That way the vote will be reported. If you're going to cast a protest vote, make sure your protest is known.

NEWS FLASH! ‘THIS JUST IN!’ JESUS CHRIST ISN’T RUNNING!

As someone else so eloquently said before, "Just because you can't have a completely sterile operating room, doesn't mean you should perform surgery in a sewer." And with MacQueeg, we're already in the sewer. Time to do what we should have done years ago: Tell the GOP, "Not this time."

I swallowed their 5h!+ sandwiches too many times. MacCain was the last straw (or turd).

Probably a good idea. It would go toward insuring ballot access for the Libertarians in the next election cycle.

If you had paid any attention to the original post, you would have known that it dealt not with McCain but with Libertarians siphoning off Republican votes in Congressional races. So it is the Liberaltarians who will help elect the socialist majority in Congress with their frivolous candidates. Neither you nor any of your ilk can refute the ACU numbers I cited, which show that Republicans in Congress are significantly better than Demonrats. I don't know your personal motivation, but it's looking more and more as if some of you McCain-haters are really subversive agents provocateurs for the Left.

Their suit fought against more than those restrictions. Those were the only points that won in court. But be that as it may, you haven’t answered the question. Do you condemn the rock solid conservative groups who joined the ACLU suit as liberals? Do you condemn all the people and groups who have joined the ACLU in suits over the years as liberals?

Do you really think that joining with the ACLU in a fight where they are taking the same side as you is as bad as accepting funding from and working with Soros to advance his agenda?

Do you also think that Republicans who side with Loserman on the war are liberals too and should not work with him on that issue?

Answer the questions rather than changing the subject to whether the ACLU led the law suit the other groups joined or not.

Bob Barr is far and away more conservative than McCain ever was.

Why not just vote for Obama?

If a conservative voter cannot bring themselves to vote for McCain, how in the world could they vote for Obama?

Neither is Pat Paulsen but some folks just might write him in.

That's the same as throwing your vote in the trash.

Voting for people who aren't running is stupid.

They knew before they went into the litigation what the result would be. The only reason they challenged the other provisions is that they knew the Court would uphold them, thus establishing that they could be enforced, while the provisions restricting the labor unions and media could not. I condemn anyone who works for the ACLU. Just because a group happens to take the same position that the ACLU does on a particular issue isn’t grounds for condemnation, but anyone who joins their staff ought to be ashamed. Might as well join the Nazis of Communists, and then say “Well, I was only supporting some of the issues that they care about.”

Wrong. Voters go looking for an alternative when the GOP and the DNC candidates start looking the same.

In most of the races an incumbent Republican lost, they did so because their Dem opponent ran a campaign to the Right of them.

CONSERVATIVES are better in Congress. McCain is no "conservative". He wasn't when he and Bush were vying for the top slot, and he isn't now. In fact, his current ACU rating is dipping into Democrat territory.

Face it. McCain is Bob Dole without the honesty, youth, or charm.
