The problem with ‘government charity’ is that the ‘middle man’ gets too big of a cut. True Altruism gives (aides) the person directly. Cutting a big check is only good until the money from that check runs out. It’s not sustainable.
Another aspect of direct charity, or even private indirect charity, is the accountability on the part of the receiver.
And again, this is another reason that libs prefer gov’t “charity” over private charity, as they don’t believe in any “judgement” of behavior choices, and accountability would be “judging” the lifestyle of the recipient.
