The Buzz about Barack’s Birth Certificate
michellemalkin.com ^ | June 10, 2008 | Michelle Malkin

Posted on 06/10/2008 10:11:40 AM PDT by Free ThinkerNY

Jim Geraghty takes a look at longstanding blog buzz over Barack Obama’s birth certificate, which the campaign refused to release to the St. Petersburg Times in April:

We tried to obtain a copy of Obama’s birth certificate, but his campaign would not release it and the state of Hawaii does not make such records public.

Has anyone seen it? Why shouldn’t the record be in the public domain for presidential candidates?

Geraghty walks through various rumors now circulating in the wake of the Obama campaign’s birth certificate blackout, including this one:

Rumor Three: His mother did not want to name him after his father, and his birth certificate says “Barry.” Perhaps the most plausible of the rumors, as Obama was known by that name through much of his childhood and young adulthood. If true, this would spur a new round of “When Barry Became Barack” stories – a minor headache for the campaign, but hardly a major scandal.

Lest the Obama campaign start whining about this issue being an unfair “distraction,” John McCain underwent intense scrutiny of his citizenship status because of his birth in the Panama Canal zone, leading the Senate to declare him a natural-born citizen in April.

Exactly. I have said it beofre and will say it again:

Obama's ardent followers are not swayed be logic, reason, or truth. To them, regardless of his positions, his gaffes, his past, or his associations, he is an idol and they the adoring, adulating idolaters.

Nothing you can say or do will convince these people otherwise...

Because I am the one they and I have been waiting for...and I am lovin' it.

Those wild eyed people represent the millions of Americans raised in the government day-care and indoctrination centers we call public schools who did not have, or would not listen to, parents and others who tried to counterweight the garbage they heard at school...who have been raised on 60 second sound bite time spans and know no better.

You have other tens of millions on the dole who will vote for him regardless of position because he promises to keep pilfering the public largess for them.

Still others of millions will vote for him simply because he is black.

Other millions will vote for him because they know exactly who he is and what he represents and agree with his anti-American positions.

The first three are all what is termed, useful idiots, a term coined by Lenin for the dupes he got to support him.

Against this it is left to us to educate, arouse, and amass the tens of millions of Americans who understand and hold fast to the foundational principles our constitutional republic rests upon...many of them the bitter, rural Americans clinging to their guns and religion that Obama so arrogantly spoke of.

Note this comparison:

A populsitic, charismatic, self-serving individual has a way of mesmerizing foolish people looking for an idol...then and now.

Barack Hussein Obama is the apex of the hate-America, domestic enemy in this country. His election as president would be the greatest coup any enemy has ever scored against this country and could easily lead to the worst, horrific disaster in our nation's history.

THE AUDACITY OF TRUTH ABOUT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

This says it's 14 years old, not 16 years old, for the foreigner...1952 The Immigration and Nationality Act of June 27, 1952, 66 Stat. 163, 235, 8 U.S. Code Section 1401 (b). (Section 301 of the Act). "Section 301. (a) The following shall be nationals and citizens of the United States at birth: "(1) a person born in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof; "(7) a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States, who prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than ten years, at least five of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years. (b) Any person who is a national and citizen of the United States at birth under paragraph (7) of subsection (a), shall lose his nationality and citizenship unless he shall come to the United States prior to attaining the age of twenty-three years and shall immediately following any such coming be continuously physically present in the United State(s) for at least five years: Provided, That such physical presence follows the attainment of the age of fourteen years and precedes the age of twenty-eight years. (c) Subsection (b) shall apply to a person born abroad subsequent to May 24, 1934: Provided, however, That nothing contained in this subsection shall be construed to alter or affect the citizenship of any person born abroad subsequent to May 24, 1934, who, prior to the effective date of this Act, has taken up a residence in the United States before attaining the age of sixteen years, and thereafter, whether before or after the effective date of this Act, complies or shall comply with the residence requirements for retention of citizenship specified in subsections (g) and (h) of section 201 of the Nationality Act of 1940, as amended." http://www.aca.ch/hisuscit.htm

If a baby is born outside of the United States but to an American, he is still eligible to be President. When a baby is born to an American, he is an American. This is why McCain is eligible, not only because he was born upon a military base.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, however, was not born to an American. This makes him ineligible.

Barack Obama was born to an American. He is eligible.

My son’s birth certificate was issued about 5 days after his birth because we couldn’t decide on a name. Five days would be enough time to fly a newborn baby from Kenya or another country to Hawaii.

It is possible that Obama was born in a foreign country and then flown to Hawaii and have a late birth certificate issued showing he was born in Hawaii and not his true country of birth. It is highly unlikely IMHO, but possible.

We’ll have to see how his war rooms deal with this problem.

My guess they will say something like “nothing to see here move along” instead of producing the birth certificate

Race yes, religion, no. Must be state by state.

As I posted on another thread, I bet he is idenitified as white on his certificate. Not that I care but he is the one that made race an issue.

You’re confusing betting with play money vs real money. Play money bets are just for fun. Your logic/analysis is for real bets. :)

My best guess is that his parents were not legally married. He claims he never bothered to confirm it, but I think the true translation of his words is more likely, "I tried to confirm it but couldn't."

Well if he were still married in Kenya, he would be ineligible to marry anyone in any state in the US.

I think he’d still be eligible if his mother was a US citizen, even if he were born in the Phillipines. But maybe the birth certificate leaves off the name of the mother, or misspells it, or has some other ambiguity on that point.

Or maybe the birth certificate doesn’t exist.

Maybe the story that he was born in Hawaii was concocted because he discovered that birth certificates are not public documents in Hawaii.

As I posted on another thread, I bet he is idenitified as white on his certificate. Not that I care but he is the one that made race an issue.

My son was born in Illinois in 1986. His birth certificate does not list race. My daughter, whom we adopted, was born in 1990 in South Dakota and while her birth certificate was reissued listing my husband and me as parents, it too does not list race.

Since Hawaii was a US territory in 1959, his citizenship would still not be in question.

If he were born prior to Hawaii statehood, then his mother's eligibility to pass along citizenship is called into question.

From FindLaw.com: "If only one parent was a U.S. citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16." Obama's mother would not meet this standard.

Now, I'm not expecting anything to result from these questions that would disqualify Obama. However, we had better be willing to ask these questions NOW, and have precedents for handling these questions settled NOW, instead of waiting a few more years until we start to have clearly illegitimate candidates trying to get elected.

If he can’t prove his citizenship he’s not eligible.

Isn’t 57 the number of recognized Islamic states in the world?

Yes.

He also said he had one more State to go. Alaska and Hawaii.

Why doesn’t Obama’s mother meet the criteria? Was she too young? Or had she not lived in the USA?

Where does it stop?

The noforn stops with Hamilton. That entire chunk of the US Constitution was to keep Hamilton off the slate forever. No-one knew that Burr would put a cap in his ass.

It's an old, old fight.

"So Barracko baby what does your birth certificate say?" It probably says he's a Martian.  Isn't that what we sent the Phoenix Mars Lander millions of miles to discover?  Didn't the Clintons authorize that project?
