The Fox News Channel, which has been seeking a new format for the 5 p.m. hour, will place a rotating series of personalities in the time slot beginning next week, including the conservative radio host Laura Ingraham. Ms. Ingraham, one of the countrys most popular radio hosts, frequently fills in for Bill OReilly, and Fox executives appear to be grooming her as a new talent for the network. Other people will also receive trial runs in the time slot.

Fox News Channel is expected to announce the changes later Tuesday. In February the cable network replaced John Gibson, the longtime host of the 5 p.m. hour, with Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly, two younger anchors who also host a morning show. Mr. Hemmer and Ms. Kellys afternoon show, Americas Election HQ, covered the primary season. But now, with the party nominees known and two months until the political conventions, there may not be quite as much election news to cover.

Glenn Beck’s success is encouraging the use of more conservatives.

I like Laura, but she drives me nuts with repeating, no less than twice, every “clever” thing she comes up with off the top of her head. That, and the voice is sometimes like an icepick through the ears...but funny, smart and attractive!

Good moves. I like Gibson but no one at Fox currently is in Megan and Laura’s class

But now, with the party nominees known and two months until the political conventionsThe nominees will NOT be known UNTIL the conventions, where the parties officially NOMINATE the NOMINEES.
How hopeful these people are!
And if Laura joins Faux News, will she get a complimentary white Bronco?

The addition of Laura Ingraham can only enhance the Fox News Channel. She is by far more effective than most conservative commentators, male or female. Good decision by Fox News.

She needs to Hanntize herself further and be more controversial angry, if she is going to have a future at FNC.
She tries to remain descent and that is good for her soul, but not very good for her long term prospects.
As of now she is neither Bimobish and dumb enough like Megan Kelly, nor does she have proper amount of anger and doesn’t yell loud enough to match the success of Hannity and O’Reilly.
She could also try the nerdy, bitter, pant-suit route, like Greta Van, but for that she is not shrilly enough or ugly enough.
She shouldn’t unpack her bags.

As long as they don’t mess with my Brit Hume hour.

Hope they try Monica Crowley. She’s very bright and entertaining. She’s been filling in on Laura’s radio show and she’s good.
I have to agree on Laura’s voice. I can take just so much.
I do miss John Gibson. He let you know exactly what he thought. Didn’t mince words.

Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly
I can watch Bill.
I can watch Megyn.
They are good -- separately.
But they should never have been paired together.
Their morning show devolves in to giddy silliness. Megyn seems to be the instigator. Once it begins, it continues through the program.
Megyn acts like she has a school-girl crush on Bill [didn't she get married just a few months ago?].
