Dozens of Fox Valley Hispanics will get the chance to talk with Sen. John McCain, the Republican Party's nominee for president, later this month. And they'll get to do it for free.
McCain will be in Chicago on June 18 for a fundraiser at the Drake Hotel, but he'll stick around that night to hold a town hall meeting with Illinois Hispanics.

John McCain to speak in Chicago
More than 100 are expected to attend, according to the meeting's organizers, Julie Brady and Gabriela Wyatt.
Brady, of St. Charles, is the deputy co-chairman of McCain's campaign in Illinois. She said the event will be closed-door, with no media in attendance.
But it's not about grabbing headlines, she said -- McCain is interested in reaching out to the Illinois Hispanic community and hearing what they have to say.
"A lot of Hispanics are just hard-working small-business owners," Brady said. "They don't want their taxes going up, they don't want the government in their business. They want the borders closed, but they want (immigrants here) treated humanely."
Wyatt is a Mexican immigrant herself, and she said she respects McCain for being among the first to push for comprehensive immigration reform. McCain and Sen. Ted Kennedy jointly proposed the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act in 2007, which included a guest-worker program and a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. The bill never reached a vote.

THese folks won't speak for me!!..
Dear Judy and Gabriela,
After reading todays article

While we may have a little different ideas about illegal immigration, I would love to come as a Representative for "You don't Speak for Me," American Hispanics speaking out on illegal immigration to the John McCain meeting with Illinois Hispanics.
I am thankful that your meeting will be all inclusive.
I would not need a ride, I live on the north side of Chicago.
I look forward to the details and your correspondence.
Sincerely,
Rosanna Marie Pulido

I want to see if a Hispanic who does not believe in these pro-illegal views will be welcome!!
“A lot of Hispanics are just hard-working small-business owners,” Brady said. “They don’t want their taxes going up, they don’t want the government in their business. They want the borders closed, but they want (immigrants here) treated humanely.”
That’s a McCain man saying that. Reading the lines, Hispanic Americans want border control and don’t want illegals made to be felons. That doesn’t preclude deportation. We will not see one McCain advertisement directed at Hispanics pushing immigration “reform.” None have so far, none will. In the articles I’ve seen so far the white liberal reporters express some surprise that immigration isn’t part of McCain’s campaign for Hispanic votes.
Pushing CIF is only to get whitel liberal support in reflex of being thought racist if othrwise.
“A lot of Hispanics are just hard-working small-business owners,” Brady said. “They don’t want their taxes going up, they don’t want the government in their business. They want the borders closed, but they want (immigrants here) treated humanely.”
Me too...and because of that, I have no problem with McCain meeting with ANY kind of American voter.
I don’t blame McCain for wanting to win, but his pandering to the left is becoming VERY TIRESOME!!
Excellent. Very brave of you.
I hope you’ll be able to attend and report back to us what is said since there is NO media allowed, but I’m guessing you’re the kind of person (anti-illegal immigration) they DO NOT want in attendance.
Fixed it for you newbie...trolls beware!
agreed!
With what the legal part or the troll part
LOL! What a guy. That's mighty white of him.
FYI, Gabriela Wyatt looks OK, or at least this does:

I thought that was mean...until I read the history from Happy. “Only 27 McCain haters, the haters are dwindling”, “Only 45 McCain haters, the McCain haters are dwindling”. Hehe, ok, everybody clap hands and sing with me, “we are happy, happy, happy, happy, happy to vote for McCain”. A McCain cheerleader trying to force conservatives to vote for him.
Count me out. Having him shoved down my throat, just makes me more determined. Every time he meets with LaRaza, every time he calls me “my friend” and tells me I just couldn’t do it, I couldn’t pick lettuce even at $50 an hour makes me realize how little he is in touch with AMERICAN’s. Doesn’t have a clue. Every time he crosses the aisle and tries to force Democrat ideas on American conservatives, it just makes me more determined that I cannot vote for him. I cannot believe how awful our choices are. He wants the Democrat crossovers and I’ll say one thing, he certainly deserves to win them.
with the “Legal American” voter part...the rest wasn’t worth a response.
How come everyone who supports McCain over Obama is a “troll”..and how come you have to stoop to name calling?
It's kind of a tip off to a troll. Please don't take offense as I was just asking.
I have to say though, I've see a lot of heated posts regarding McCain here though I've never seen anyone called a troll for it especially when it's McCain vs Obama. Guess I missed them.
As for myself, I have many issues with McCain and really won't decide what to do till election day rolls around. I will say this, if I do give my vote to him it won't be for him but rather against either Obama or Hillary (no, I don't believe she is out yet)
What? Me mean? LOL...just kidding.
Were you referring to the troll part or the legal American voter that I corrected for him?
FWIW, I am in total agreement with you on the McCain dilemma.
Thank you for trying. It is worth a try. Be warned, my friend (of Mexican decent) who has lived in U.S. Border towns all his life, was one of three people who took McCainh on a tour of the area a little over a year ago. My friend was in the middle of explaining some things that happen on the border, when McCain turned red in the face, and blew up, telling my friend he didn't know what he was talking about, an argument followed, neither would back down, someone else rapidly butted in, and changed the subject.
I have lots of issues with McCain as well; global warming, oil companies;illegals....but I think we can influence him...we ARE a force when we get motivated. But I think Obama and or Clinton are too big of a risk to the country to walk away from voting for MCain. That’s why I want him out hustling ALL the votes he can get.
As a group...we need 4 years to kick the stupid over-spenders...over-regulators...out of Congress.
He will most likely be a one term pres. so he won't try to please his voters that put him in office to get reelected. After all, he's shown time and again that he is a "Maverick"
Secondly, we are going to have a what looks like a veto proof dem house and senate. No matter who gets in, this Country is in for a tumultuous period of time. If McCain is in, the GOP (whats left of it) is going to get the blame further destroying the party and probably for a long, long time.
If the dems win the WH, I expect whoever is in (Obama or Hillary) is going to be tested sooner rather that later. We are indeed heading for some interesting times, IMHO. This is a difficult decision for sure.
However, we can still throw the bum out at the convention and draft a true conservative to run. A man in the mold of Hunter or even McClintock comes to mind. I think that is where the force and influence you speak of is best suited.
As a group...we need 4 years to kick the stupid over-spenders...over-regulators...out of Congress.
Agreed, but that would require a revolution, one that I would be glad to sign up for. McCain is an intrinsic part of the problems that you stated. For example, could you see him nominating judges that would overturn McCain Fiengold?
You don’t get it do you? McCain has never been popular here, not to mention the fact that you are very new and that alone makes you suspicious. Especially when you show no interest in anything but earning McMugs.
No one here supports Obama, that is your 1st mistake, an ignorant one I might add. Many, not all, do not support Juan either. This is a conservative site, not a GOP site.
You want to hang around people who cheer McCain 24/7? Look elsewhere.
More than 100 are expected to attend

Only 100 ?????????
Where are the rest ????????
Hiding in the shadows ????????
No, CL is PRO-immigration...
It’s McCain, the illegal aliens, and their enablers who are anti-immigration...
Why should McCain even campaign in Illinois? I live there and a monkey or a dog would win on the Democrat side of the ticket. Considering this is Obama’s home state, he will take IL by a landslide and all the electoral votes so why waste any time at all in IL? I will not vote for McCain but can vote for local issues.
we’re on the same page. I have HUGE issues with McCain...and I agree that en-trenched goverment is such a part of the problem....that’s why we have such a high percentage of millionares in the Senate...it’s embarrassing and insulting to we tax-payers.
But my issues with Obama are even bigger. He’s truely a Marxist...and serves up a speech like velvet. All the idiots will vote for him because he promises “free stuff”. He’ll only make it all worse....at least with McCain there should be some spending restraint....and abortion will be held back...and the troops will be taken care of.
With obama...the whole apple cart gets turned over.
Thanks for the ping, lady. I’m sure McCain will meet with your group for free too!
UGH.
