I heard the patient on the news yesterday. He and a friend were doing some project in the backyard. The friend was above him, perhaps on the roof, and while the friend was trying to untangle the nail gun cord it slipped from his grasp and the nail discharged. They were both looking for the nail when they realized it was in his head. He was very matter of fact about the whole thing and said that because there was little blood, he didn't get too excited. He did admit that had he been bleeding a lot that he probably would have fainted.
