I feel the same way. I can’t remeber feeling so sad about the death of a personality for quite awhile. I think it’s because he’s seemed so decent and was a devoted son, dad and husband.

Prayers for your husband and your family. Quitting his stressful job is the best thing your husband will have ever done. My older brother had his first bypass at 45. It was followed by others, so it’s not been easy, but he is about to celebrate his 73rd birthday. He manages to play golf a few times a week, and plays cards regularly with a group of friends. His life is good. Let us all pray your husband enjoys a similar path.

Was listening to Shep on Sirius radio when he made the announcement. Evidently, Fox had the report earlier but was waiting for NBC to break it. They reported after Brokaw made the announcement. Shep and Chris Wallace were reporting and commenting.

Very sad for the family. Tim, his wife (writer for Vanity Fair) and their son who had just graduated Boston College had just returned from a trip to Italy to celebrate the graduation.
