I'm not surprised that McCain didn't show up. The Texas GOP, for the most, is very conservative and he has told them he doesn't want their help or support.

McCain snubbed the Virginia convention in May, also.

....remember the “uncola” advertising campaign? McCain is going to campaign as the “unRepublican”......he will take conservative votes if he can get them......but he will run as an independent of the center/right, Left.
....conservatives don’t have a dog in this fight.

he'll go to Houston on Tuesday for what is billed as a major speech on energy policy.Another one? Unless he reverses policy on cap and trade, drilling in ANWR, and the ethanol boondoggle, he's just going to alienate more people -- well, at least the ones that don't vote for a candidate because he "has better music."

"I didn't support McCain," she said. "But I have to now. He's our candidate. It seems like he should be here." "I didn't support him...[but] It seems like he should be here." Seems like she's a little full of herself.

I'm curious... I've seen "Obama" bumper stickers. Has anyone sighted a "McCain" bumper sticker? Kind of telling...I wouldn't put one on my car either.
VOTE MCCAIN - BECAUSE SOCIALISM STILL SUCKS
VOTE MCCAIN - BECAUSE THE ALTERNATIVE IS TOO STUPID TO CONSIDER
VOTE MCCAIN - BECAUSE...WELL...JUST BECAUSE!

McCain wants the Conservative vote, he wants the Conservative’s money.
What will he do in return.
Not a damn thing.

"Texas' vote is probably not a question mark."
McCain's people are missing the boat - sure, we'll vote for the guy over Obama, but nobody is going to be ponying up cash, working phone banks, or putting up yard signs.
In a close election, volunteers will make the difference. McCain's precious independents just aren't the types to work in a campaign, because if they were that committed, they wouldn't be independent.

My suggestion is that we snub McCain in the general. My opinion is that McCain is no better than Obama. If you have any doubts wait till he gets done speaking to the racist LaRaza convention. The GOP is run by RINOs and deserves to be disbanded.

I’ve always been an active Republican. Gave money. Did a lot of volunteer work, and I decided that this election would be no exception. My politics have not been too far from McCain’s. His immigration bill didn’t bother me. Campaign finance wasn’t a big problem. (I’ve shifted my views on McCain-Kennedy to ‘anti’ however.) But I’m getting tired of McCain sticking his finger in the eye of people trying to get him elected.
I’m to the point that at this moment I will vote for him, but I’m not going to lift a finger to help him. Maybe I’ll change my mind later, but right now I’m too busy trying to make ends meet to give of my precious time and money to help someone that will either ungratefully ignore me or slam the leaders of my party when he thinks it’s politically beneficial.

And good old AMERICANINTOKYO will be snubbing Mr. McCain when voting this year by absentee ballot, sending it in from Tokyo a few weeks before the election.
This McBAMA 2008 has to be one of the WORST "choices" we have been faced with in years. I cannot recall a worse two-party choice for President in my lifetime.

Why even pay 8 bucks for his ugly mug on a mug. All you have to do is get on the internet, try to say something nice about him, earn bonus points, and get a free ugly mug mug.

I heard him say the other day that the CEOs were making way too much money. If elected he’s going to investigate that. WTF. The over whelming majority of CEOs make less than most professional baseball and basketball players. This man is a disgrace. I'm starting to believe he will be more detrimental to this country than Obama. I can't believe a man and a republican could be in Congress for as long as McCain and still not understand the basic economic fundamentals of this country. Hey John why doesn't your wife show her income?
