Great idea. I live a few hours from the border. What Mexican town did you fly out of?
No, The strong and the smart are investing heavily on lobbyists.
And what does that have to do with my post? Maybe you intended your comment for another poster?
Go about six miles East of Calexico and take the East border crossing.
Next time I will take my older work car and just leave it in the airport parking lot which is about 40 feet from the main entrance.
Mexicali is a rather larger city of about 800,000 or so known inhabitants and probably another 200,000 waiting in some form to jump across the border.
The trip to the airport is short going from the border.
I have flown out of Juarez several years ago.
I won’t call that smart but I will concede that it is considered clever in this debased age.
I seriously doubt that a fuel price "surcharge" could cause a "doubling of fares"--you're forgetting all the OTHER parts of the balance sheet that those fares have to pay (salaries, maintenance, depreciation, etc.,etc.).
The 737-700ER has a range of 5500 miles.
Bring your shoehorn.

Sounds like this guy is a prime candidate for a political office.
With fuel prices this high and the inability of customers to be able to afford the real cost of flying, this will not be pretty.
Amtrak! A great example of what government can do when it really wants to screw up a transportation system. We should bring back privately held railroads. They are by far the most energy efficient way to transport over long distances.
There is a whole story about what the trucking lobby did to dismantle our railroads. Hopefully some day rail service can come back in a user friendly way.
Transcontinental trains were once the epitome of civilized travel. But before we all hop aboard, we’d do well to recall that the country’s last major railroad right-of-way maintenance was done about the same time our last oil refinery was built. (Hint: ‘Twarn’t yesterday.)
Hotels are doing lousy. We live on the Colorado River across from Laughlin, NV. Usually this time of year the casinos are full and the river is hopping with watercraft. This is the worst I have ever seen it. It is very bad.
I agree with you. Today’s rail service is worthless unless you have no schedule and just want to go whenever. I hope that rail service in the US will someday approach the European level of service.
Apparently your view of the TSA is in the minority.
And apparently you have no clue as to what you talk about since this thread is about FUEL COSTS and not the TSA.
