Sign of road rage may be on bumper
Washington Post ^ | June 17, 2008 | Shankar Vedantam

Three horrors await Americans who get behind the wheel of a car for a family road trip this summer: the spiraling price of gas, choruses of "Are we there yet?"—and the road rage of fellow drivers.

Divine intervention might be needed for the first two problems, but science has discovered a solution for the third:

Watch out for cars with bumper stickers.

That's the surprising conclusion of a recent study by Colorado State University social psychologist William Szlemko.

It is hazardous to put any GOP or conservative stickers on your car, since the Libs(being kind and thoughtfull people) will vandalize your car.
So to retaliate..I now carry a couple long roofing nails in my pocket..just in case I see a Prious with a BO sticker.
So all you Libs out there take note...two flats in the same day is a real pain.

I’ve always thought bumper stickers are nothing more than magnets for vandalisim.

I've never put a sticker on my car(s), ever. Living in the Seattle area, the last thing you'd want to do is to leave a car unattended with anything remotely conservative on the car.

What I have done though is to put a Bush sticker on a piece of cardboard inside the window, then I would stash it when I park someplace. But I've never been really into stickers anyway. I've never thought that they accomplish anything.

My husband works with a guy who has an old beater Volvo wagon that he wants to get rid of. I’m dying to buy it just so I can cover it with right-wing stickers and confuse/annoy the he!! out of people!

I have 2 bumper stickers on my car--one on each side of the trunk door. They are held on with a magnet strip I stuck on the bumper stickers so that I can take them off when going through the car wash.

They both say the same thing: SELF-DEFENSE IS A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT.

And yes, my car has been sabotaged a time a two, but it's worth it to me. I get far more thumbs up than anything else, tho. Could be because I live in Texas.....

The only stickers on my car (back window)...

Top center:

bottom left:
No image. A window sticker supporting a local clinic that helps women with unexpected pregnancies. It's a Catholic organization that is committed to saving unborn babies.

Bottom right:

When I was young a foolish, I used to have one that said "Yes, as a matter of fact, I do own the whole d*** road"

I want to be incognito. I want safe passage to and from my destination. I want to travel unmolested. Hence, a clean, unmarked vehicle.

Yup, mine is the same way for the same reasons. My car would be keyed at minimum if I had conservative leaning bumper stickers on my car in the Rochester, NY area.

80% of the time, a car with more than 4 bumper stickers is a liberal’s car.

closer to 99% in my locale. I was just thinking earlier this week, if there are more than four bumper stickers, it must be a lib.

I have a non-adhesive troop support ribbon on the inside corner of my rear window. Otherwise, I eschew all decoration for pretty much all the reasons you stated.

I made one, on magnetic paper, for the parents of my sons Kajukembo school that said, “My Seronio Kajukembo kid will kick your honor roll student’s ass!”

I like the bumper sticker described in an old Brother Dave Gardner joke: “I May Be Slow, But I’m Ahead of You.”

Talk about a road rage magnet. :)

COEXIST

Aw, isn’t that sweet? What a beautiful bumper sticker. So heartwarming. I never would have thought about coexisting with other religions if it hadn’t been for that bumper sticker. Now I’m inspired! I think I’ll put down my gun now and embrace my jihadist brothers and sisters. < /s>

I have trained my kids to point at them a laugh when they see a lib-styled sticker.

It took me a few seconds to get it, then I burst out laughing.

The feminists will burst a blood vessel if they see that T-shirt.
