It ain’t the earth we should be worried about, something of this sort would suck up the sun itself and then where would we be, out freezing to death someplace, I guess.

I understand what you're saying. I guess I'm just saying that before they start fooling around with this stuff, I'd like my location to be far away from it!

Oops, yes, directly proportional. (And that’s not even 100% accurate - its proportional to some power of the mass, I can’t recall what power though).
