If it is going to take 10 years,
shouldn't we get started?

Drill here, drill now, pay less

...a consulting company, argues that additional supply could make a difference in price, especially if domestic drilling were coupled with aggressive conservation efforts. He said it would take time, though — a minimum of five or six years, even if drilling were to begin today.

I'm sick and tired of these idiots constantly telling us that anything we do is worthless because it takes blah-blah years to come online. Bottom line is that if we would quit talking about it and do it we'd be DONE WITH IT BY NOW!!!The Democrats need to be hammered on this and $4gal gas!!

I have often wondered why he would not do this, force the opposition’s hand, they didn’t mind cramming their policies down the peoples throat through E.O. when they had the Oval office, who here thinks that won’t happen again if the Dems regain that office.

Bush can sign an Executive Order lifting all bans on drilling / exploration & really put the screws to the Democrats. What is he waiting for?

All hat, no cattle.

Sorry, but the Reps will be blamed, especially since the MSM and the Dems will say that the two oilmen in the WH and their buddies in Big Oil are behind the price rise. Never underestimate the stupidity of the American public when it comes to important issues.

The news out of China sold the market off," said Dan Flynn, a market analyst at Alaron Trading in Chicago.

Could be since the results of lifting the Gov't subsidies would be apparent immediately. The proposals to open ANWR and offshore sites to leasing would have a blip effect.

Americans need to go on strike and stop driving.

That's just what Congressmen like Pelosi, Obama and Reid want us to do. Is that what we as Americans, really want to do?

No. I am talking about sending congress a message. Everyone stay home a day in protest of high gas prices. Pelosi and clan want us to buy hybrids and turn off our air conditioning while they drive suv’s and stay cool. Solar air is a good strong wind but its hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Democrats in a sense are saying “let them ear cake”. Is Pelosi able to close here eyes when she sleeps at night or are her eyes stretched too wide open?

No. I am talking about sending congress a message.

I understand your frustration, but I think sending Congress an immediate message; i.e., call your Representatives and Senators, and tell them to support policies that are conducive to drilling, is more effective. If they don't respond, vote their @sses out in November. The threat of losing their seat is the most effective message they'll receive.

60 days. He is waiting for them to leave for July 4th and a little bit closer to the election. The pinch at the pump has to become a punch, so he can get the knockout.

I am tired of Bush’s strategy. The country is also waiting.

History has shown that Bush will not sign an EO. Take that to the bank.

Cause Bush doesn't want it nor does the GOP who sat on their majority arse for over a decade and could have changed policy also. THEY ARE BOUGHT OFF.

The Environmental Lobby on K ST in DC decorates the Dems in green. It is their priorities-no drilling for oil, no nuclear energy, no refineries, that has put us in this position today.

Somebody needs held accountable for the financial consequences to hundreds of thousands of American businesses and their dependent employees and customers for a monumental leadership failure in DC. We may well be a generation behind the energy development curve...and may pay for it with a Depression which will not be relieved until adequate sources come on line.

I know that very well but sometimes you have to have a fantasy just to keep from going crazy from the absurd reality.
