AMERICA IN TWO YEARS.
The hard part, is determining who the real domestic enemies are. Would it be based on politics, religion, what you read in your favorite blog, what???
You probably can't imagine a military unit that would engage in genocide or the mass murder of the country's own civilians. But governments around the world have no problem recruiting such
All you need is a fraction of a percent of the population that would enjoy the job (there are lots of militant anti-gunners). You find out what psychological tests would profile such people, and you have all the government high schools administer the tests. Then you give them paychecks, uniforms, and weapons
“Not one gun was pulled from cold, dead hands. “
The only people left in NO were not the types to do so. Those that would do so were responsible enough to have left days before. This subversive idea that people with guns are redneck trash is what will be the arrogant downfall of the liberals.
I don’t believe our military would.
B-o-T is right on target. The Left knows it cannot be successful in trying repeal the Second Amendment so instead has taken the piecemeal approach that makes gun ownership so expensive that it becomes prohibitive.
The same approach is being used to pass immigration reform. A ‘comprehensive’ amnesty bill will not pass but a little change here, a little change there and Presto! you have 40 million new democrat voters.
I'm not talking about our military. I'm talking about the BATFE. You don't need a military to confiscate peoples guns, if you do it gradually enough
1)Make ammo to expensive for people to afford target shooting
2) Raid and confiscate all firearms whenever there is a charge of "domestic violence". Then rig the system so divorce lawyers make the charge as a standard part of divorce proceedings
3) Restrict hunting more and more, so people drop out of the activity
After time, you will disarm the people the same way the Brits did
Something like a civil war? How would it be determined on which side someone fights? Pro-life againt choice? Pro-gun against no gun? Gays against straights? Christians against non-Christians? Home-schoolers against public schoolers? Who gets to be the leader, an elected official or the most charismatic? Liberals against conservatives, etc?
As I have repeatedly said, time will tell...and eventually we will die, and it will be someone else’s issue.
Yes, but they would follow orders anyway. Remember New Orleans?
Your attitude indicates that you are not a parent. I will die, and whatever "issues" I leave unresolved will be problems for my children and grandkids
Just like generations before us and those to come.
We do what we think is right...it’s just that we all think differently.
I think most, if not all of that, had to do with the fact that it was a natural disaster and people had no place to live, food, water, etc.
Right. Just when law abiding citizens needed personal arms the most, the “Authorities” took them away.
There is no excuse. It was a blatant abuse of power.
If you don’t understand what your liberties are as outlined and protected by the BOR and other amendments, then I’m a little worried about you. If you want your answers, read our founding documents (Declaration of Independence, Constitution, BOR, Federalist Papers). See if you find the mention of words like Christians or gays in there.
What you will find is an outline of the powers that “We the People” have given to the federal government and the rights that the federal government are there to protect for us.
One little side note since this thread is about gun control. Have you ever heard of the Pink Pistols? Its a gun rights group entirely made up of homosexuals. They banded together for the purpose of promoting RKBA to the homosexual community to protect themselves against homophobic beatings.
If you’re asking about drawing the line between Christians and non-Christians or Gays and straights, then I fear you do not understand what our founding fathers were talking about.
I agree. I doubt it would have happened if there had been no Katrina, though.
I don’t really buy the “it can’t happen here” argument, not in the least bit, and especially on principle.
I don’t care if “communism can’t happen here” either.
The mere fact that there are those that desire communism and citizen disarmament, and that half the country wants those people in power,
is enough for this to be a BIG ISSUE.
They were examples. I didn’t think it necessary to say that, I apologise.
