Latest Electoral College Tally: Obama 317, McCain 194, Tied 27 (Florida)
Electoral-Vote.com ^ | June 22, 2008 | James Joyner

Compared to 2004, Obama would pick up Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, and Virginia while McCain would pick up no states that George W. Bush didn’t carry. Further, McCain is barely leading in North Carolina, Georgia, and Nevada, all of which Bush won.

Then again, on this day in 2004, John Kerry was leading President Bush 285 to 249 and had slight leads in both Florida and Ohio. As you may recall, it didn’t turn out that way.

However, Obama seems to be running stronger than Kerry was this time in the cycle, with leads in states like Colorado and Virginia.

I think you are correct. Conservatives do not have a dog in this fight.

They must be using dead people to get this result. I have not met anyone that will vote for this POS yet!

Virginia is going to Obama?! It is not going to happen no matter what. Obama chances of winning Colorado is less than 30%.

There is a limit how much more money will be effective. Money in politics is like eating food. There is a limit how much you eat before you cannot eat anymore. The electorate can take a limited about of ads, phone calls, etc... more of it will become totally irrelevant. McCain $ 87 millions in public fund will be more than enough for the 8-9 weeks before elections day.

Obama outspent Hillary Clinton in Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania and he still lost these states.

That is because a lot of the very vocal voices on FR, the “Purists”, hate McCain and want him to lose. As usual they are going to be disappointed.

I certainly don't know where your numbers come from but or about your prediction but I think I'll go vote anyway.

If Obama and the Dems (in general) don't change their position on energy I think they could very well lose all across the ballot or not win anywhere near as big as they expected.

Bologna! These are the same numbers from Dukakis vs. Bush, 20 years ago.

We all know how that ended.

As I said in the previous post, McCain haters on FR want him to lose and they are totally detached from the reality that Obama is not going to win. It will be a very sad day for the “Purists” on FR when McCain is going to be the next President. They will be even more irrelevant than they are now.

Whoever wins is going to win with fewer than 300 electoral votes.

It's going to be a really ugly election for conservatives across the board.

In the House and Senate, I agree. But McCain wins the White House.

I think that McCain is ahead right now, and barring an economic collapse will win rather easily in November.

And I don’t even like the man!

Something’s fishy with these poll numbers. It’s going to be a close election, not a landslide to either side.

So how does this guy come up with these numbers?

Saw an unscientific poll the other day asking who was more honest, McCain or Obama. McCain came out ahead in every State, finishing behind Obama only in the District of Columbia.

I think Obama is a much better candidate than Kerry or Dukakis. He is smart and savvy.

It’s scary because people are blinded by his appearance, and his political stances are so liberal. I don’t think most people even know his views on different issues, especially defense.

I would say that a Republican’s chances in Ohio are not good...

I agree as far as Congress is concerned (OH 15, most of Columbus, is going to go 'Rat for the first time in decades.) But remember, out of 11 million people in Ohio, only 5 million live in large metro areas, and plenty of them will vote GOP, at least for president.

The other 6 million are small town America. More conservative than liberal, and generously sprinkled with certain folks who would NEVER vote for a non-white for president.

McCain wins Ohio.

A near perfect campaign wedge issue. IF the Republicans have the sense and guts to use it to its maximum potential. Unfortunately, that's a pretty big if. God, the Republican Party is stupid.

Obama probably will not win PA, he isn’t going to win Ohio and he might not win Michigan. He definitely will not win Florida.

Obama, if lucky will win 5 states.

"... I have not met anyone that will vote for this POS yet...!"

I'm on two additional forums with acquaintences I know. There are quite a few who will vote for BO, and there's no convincing them otherwise.

Well, you know their drill—I don't have to relate it all.
