Father's Day cards banned in Scottish schools

Thousands of primary pupils were prevented from making Father's Day cards at school for fear of embarrassing classmates who live with single mothers and lesbians.

The politically correct policy was quietly adopted at schools "in the interests of sensitivity" over the growing number of lone-parent and same-sex households.

My birthday is August 10th. As a kid, I was GLAD my birthday didn’t take place during the school year. Having to go to school on my birthday would have totally spoiled the whole day! So they could celebrate other kids’ birthdays in class all they wanted, and I wasn’t jealous. I got to sleep in on my birthday, and not go to school, and that was the best celebration of all!

Oceania is what Leftists have had planned for us since the 1930's. They have diligently worked to create that nightmare every year, everywhere they can. Orwell's book was indeed a warning. But very few people seem to comprehend that warning or what the Left is slowly but surely inflicting on us.

You may have heard the news story of 18 16 year old girls in Worcester Mass all getting pregnant under a "pregnancy pact". No one should be shocked by this. These girls just took what they were being taught in the public schools to it's logical conclusion.

I was actually referring to the 10th century, a time which contrasts with ours in that then you could be reasonably sure that there were actually two teams on any given field. Today, when we see the ball moving in the same direction no matter who has it, we gotta wonder.

Sorry. I'm falling into my old habit of differentiating between people who are conceived by someone that has no involvement in their life, and people who have a father that's active in their life. To my way of thinking, not all fathers are the genetic progenitors of the children they have responsibility for.

I freely admit it's a differentiation that certainly not everyone would agree with or use.

Mine too. When I was in school, birthdays weren’t ‘celebrated’ in class anyway. No one ever had cupcakes brought in so I wasn’t really missing out on anything. Mine is in July, so not only could I sleep late but could go swimming, have friends over on my *actual* birthday (not having to wait for the weekend!) and use my new gift such as a bike!

Brave New World by Aldous Huxley is a short novel, you could probably read in one or two evenings. It takes a very grim view of the future, as seen from 1930's perspectives. Everything that is bad now is "good" then. Everything that is good now is "bad" then. Everything that is immoral now is "moral" then. Everything that is moral now is "immoral" then. Psychoactive drug use is not bad or immoral, it's mandatory. Sexual activity, of any kind, is not only good, but encouraged, even with children and between children. Abortions are routine, as is the "pill". There are no "families" or "spouses", "mothers" or fathers" or "brothers and sisters". Those terms are obscenities and are not used at all. Anybody who "deviates" from societal "norms" are sent to be "rehabilitated" or, failing that, banished from society, to live with "barbarians" in some forsaken corner of the globe. The story revolves around a single man who was the "child" of a "normal" member of society who got pregnant while on vacation to one of these places (to see the "Indians" as they were called)and got stuck there, where no facilities were available to take care of the "problem". He grew up in the "Indian" primitive culture and was discovered and brought back to live in the "civilized" society. He was rejected by the primitives, as an outsider and was a curiosity to the civilized people. He ultimately could not "cope" with the situation he found himself in..............
