Wichita, KS - June 24, 2008 - A murder investigation has been opened involving Shelley Sella, a California abortionist employed by George Tiller, who is reported to have intentionally stabbed to death an infant born alive during an abortion at Tiller's Women's Health Care Services abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas.
Operation Rescue reported the incident to the Wichita Police Department after a former Tiller employee, Tina Davis, told Troy Newman and Cheryl Sullenger of the stabbing in April. It is believed that the alleged infanticide took place sometime in the past two years.
In addition, the incident has been reported to the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, which has confirmed that the case has been assigned to an investigator.
Abortionist Shelley Sella is a "circuit rider" who splits her time between Tiller's Wichita clinic, a California Planned Parenthood clinic, and other, smaller abortion mills.
"Ms. Davis gave us a very specific eye-witness account about the incident," said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. "We were told that the baby was 35 weeks gestation at the time of the abortion. The baby came out and was moving. Sella looked up at Ms. Davis, then picked up a utensil and stabbed the baby in the left ribcage, twisting the utensil until the baby quit moving. At 35 weeks, there is no doubt about viability. This is murder in anybody's book."
"We understand there are unique challenges to getting charges filed in this case since the body would have been cremated at Tiller's on-site crematorium. Without a body, any murder case becomes more difficult," said Newman. "However, because of the brutality of this murder and the gravity of this charge, we are compelled to demand that Tiller's clinic be closed by the State until a full inspection and investigation can take place, and that the medical licenses of Sella and her boss, Tiller, be immediately suspended."
"We have every reason to believe that the story she told us was true," said Newman. "We have been able to confirm many of the other things she told us. Ms. Davis came forward because she was troubled by what went on at the abortion clinic, and was seeking peace. We pray she finds it."

I don’t know if it happened or not but it’s very easy for me to believe. If a person can kill a baby (abortion) why would they have qualms about how to do it?

The alleged act is simply the natural extension of the abortion on demand philosophy - and not much of an extension at that. What was the space from the womb to the table on which the child was stabbed - a couple of inches?
Anyone who had no problem with an abortion in this instance (I’m assuming the mother’s life was not in danger) but somehow finds the stabbing objectionable is suffering from a profound delusion that there is a distinction here.
Any abortionist who will kill a late-term baby via the partial-birth abortion procedure of stabbing the infant in the head will have no problem in stabbing him/her in the chest.
My friend's son and his wife just welcomed a 36-weeks gestation baby, induced early because of the mother's toxemia. She's beautiful. To someone like Tiller or Sella, she might as well have a target painted on her tiny chest.
Until people are willing to lift their heads and look Evil square in the face, they will not see abortion for the unspeakable savagery that it is.
I have little doubt this story is true, but given the state of judges and politics in Kansas, I doubt a thing is going to be done. Tiller and his minions are protected by Sebellius, the Democrats and the sickening Kansas RINOs.
I have no problem buying this story. A few years ago they had testamony in washington dc regarding partial birth abortions.
Several nurses testified about how some babies were born alive and left on counters and or other rooms to die. My friend’s daughter who is an RN told me about an incident at a hospital she worked at. She is an OB nurse. I don’t remember exactly the incident but the baby who had down syndrome was supposed to be born dead. She wasn’t and they put her in another room to die. My friend refused to let this baby die alone and she went in and wrapped her up in a blanket and held her close to her heart until she died.
She left the hospital shortly thereafter. This happened several years ago, and she is still haunted by this. She told me flat out...This kind of stuff goes on all the time. She has made it clear at every place she worked, that she will not participate in any procedure that involves the death of an infant.
No, I am not surprised that this particular incident has occurred. It probably happens everyday.
Kansas is treading on very thin ice allowing this monster to continue performing late term abortions. I live in Oklahoma and I fear that we will feel the shocks when the earth opens up and swallows Wichita. What’s up Jayhawks? Are you asleep up there?

We were told, yet again. 35 weeks is about 8.75 months. That is not an abortion, that is a birth. I’m supposed to believe, without a shred of evidence that a woman took a baby to term and then went to a clinic, knowing full well THEY may call the cops on her, for them to kill her full-term baby? That is a huge stretch. I mean freakin’ HUGE.

What part of the heinous 'partial birth abortion' process don't you understand?
It means that babies, viable for life, at the last stages, are allowed to be 'partially' born, then their heads are punchered, their brains sucked out = resulting in death.
Occasionally, a baby makes it all the way out before being murdered and is alive and kicking - at which time they are set aside and left to die...or otherwise disposed of.
We reel at the thought that any human could stab to death a newborn - but take into account that these are people who have been participating in the in-human infanticide all along - they are used to looking upon these little ones as nothing but something that must not be allowed to live. Not much of a difference from punchering a tiny skull to tiny ribs...
This case may or may not be true. The investigation will probably not go anywhere. Kansas law enforcement has as much as said that there is nothing they can or will do to stop this guy from doing late term abortions. People fly in from around the country to terminate pregnancies when their local abortionists refuse because of a sliver of morality.
Personally, I would like for all abortions to be banned. But for the life of me I cannot understand why pro-life and pro-abortion people cannot agree on a ban on late term abortions. Ignoring the morality, it is logical nonsense to, in one case, spend enormous resources to save the life of a baby born prematurely at 24 weeks and then allow a mother to abort her baby at 28 weeks. Their should be a huge frontier of time between those two events.
Can’t civilized people agree that if the mother can’t make up her mind to terminate in the first 13 weeks, the state should close the door. As a pro-life person, I will always support a ban on all abortions. But can’t we do something now to save those babies who may be viable outside of their mother’s womb?

What surprises me is that an employee (i.e., accessory to murder) blew the whistle on this.
It's standard practice, as part of a D&C abortion, to reassemble the body parts of the infant on a tabletop, after the abortion, to make sure that no body parts are left in the mother's womb. It's not hard to imagine someone who witness this kind of carnage, day after day, to be indifferent an infant being stabbed to death. But maybe it was the breaking point for the informant.
My girls (9 & 12) heard that on the news, and their mouths dropped open. I had already familiarized them with the facts about abortion, and the fact that every other person they meet thinks abortion should be legal. They were still shocked by Obama's statement. Amazing that this doesn't even register with most people.
In a river of boiling blood? Prevented, by centaurs with arrows, from lifting their heads from the blood they have spilled? It is deserved.
My granddaughter was born 3 months premature. She weighed 1 pound 10 oz. She CRIED when they pulled her into the bright, cold cruel world. She spent the next 3 months in one of the best neo-natal units in America (Kosair Hospital in Louisville, KY) - luckily right across the Ohio River from where we all live - and she came home at a tad over 4 lbs just before her actual ‘due date’. No complication, infections or surgeries... (I think the power of prayer had a lot to do with that)
One day I have ‘Mom & Dad’ in the car on our way to one of our nearly daily ‘visits’. We passed a very respectful, quiet, orderly protest of praying folks standing in front of a ‘Women’s Health Clinic’ in downtown Louisville. I’d never noticed it before. Very low key. I circled the block and pulled over in front of them. One of the ladies came up after I rolled down the window and I told her where we were going and why. I also told her that babies just as viable and even more developed were just tossed in the trash at places like that.
Under-developed and tiny, she was still very much a baby. No one with eyes could not recognize that unless they willingly lied to themselves because they think they are so much smarter than the rest of the world.
‘Born’ in January instead of April, her name is Autumn and she now weighs nearly 9 lbs and is smiling and cooing. She’s perfect in every way.
