Didn't your mother ask you: "If everyone else was jumping off a cliff, would you follow them?".

Dole? Quite Reaganesque you think?

I know some lefties who are going to vote for McCain this November. They realize that Obama is not up to the presidency (mildly rational liberals - imagine that!) and they find McCain palatable.

Conservatives see a choice between middle-of-the-road and rabid Marxism. And it's not just the next four years that concern me; it's the justices and legal precedents that will last for decades.

“.... and this nitwit says we should attack Pakistan , a nucular ally. And then he wants to go to Iran and make peace with a terrorist who says he’s going to destroy us. While he’s doing that, he wants to give Iraq to al Qaeda, Afghanistan to the Taliban, Israel to the Palestinians, and your money to the IRS so the government can give welfare to illegal aliens, who he will make into citizens, so they can vote to reelect him. He also thinks it’s okay for Iran to have nucular weapons, and we should stop our foreign aid to Israel.”

That needs tattoing on O’bama’s forehead....

History will not be kind to the views of Bush’s critics.

Agreed. Despite the criticism leveled at Bush (much of it deserved, BTW) I think once all the dust settles Bush will be judged to have been a good president for 1) his steadfastness against terrorists and 2) his judicial picks.

If I remember correctly, at the time, the Repub’s were trying to show how much they were willing to “get along” and so confirmed a radical leftist judge. The left could be counted on to fight tooth and nail in opposition to a constructionist nominee. The right just rolls over and plays dead. And we’ve been sliding down that slippery slope ever since.

The problem with the Ginsburg vote was that Republicans played by the rules. The rules say that the President picks who he wants and only a major flaw other than ideology can cause the Senate to disqualify the candidate.

On the one hand, Dole and McCain did the right thing by approving her, one the other, Republicans should have learned from the "Bork Experience" to cheat like Democrats.

Would McCain be a useful maverick, he'd a voted against Buzzy and not been part of the gang of 14.

I'm a maverick too, just wait and see.

He’s a ghost, don’t attempt contact.

He’s dead to his country... and we don’t do dead voters.

If he doesn’t care for what’s left and can’t counter a vote for that horror on the other side, he’s worse than useless. Then to have the cojones to come and distress others... as they wonder what happened to the party. The ‘woe is me I voted for him’ doesn’t do crap with this moment and today.

I’d like to hear the wonderful outcome of if they had voted for the opponent and how great it would be now, a little imagined revisionist history, might as well.

They can’t wait to get on their knees for Obama... and tell their kids to sleep tight, they just couldn’t vote the lesser of two evils, as they go to the bread line, get a wonderful communist education and live as true slaves. If we’re lucky we’ll get a one child policy or off elders and the disabled when the socialist healthcare kicks in.

What the hell, they probably wouldn’t be around, who cares?

Let’s be clear, I know about McCain’s demons, I have the recordings, I know the hell and can’t stand him. But i’ll be damned if I hand over to my kids and grandkids a Marxist Islamist mole. I know this election was set-up from the start and most were globalists. Do I say ‘oh well, the people don’t have any say and the media’s electing them, why vote’? Hell no. People died for that vote whether I ‘feel’ like voting or not. So that I can’t tell my kid I voted for McCain with a straight face doesn’t wash (but telling them how you aided the others win and tearing apart the country is better I guess, when they asked why didn’t you do something). Doesn’t this country deserve a proper vetting, do we just let anyone stroll in this country who doesn’t know what Memorial Day and uses wrong examples on presidents meeting with tyrants (wrong and horrible examples btw), straight out of a CAIR history book, separates this country by race, class, religion? Who is this guy... we know he lies way above any pol and is from the machine. Doesn’t at least your country deserve better period? No matter who you do and don’t like. This guy wants one debate... have you ever heard of that? Coast right on in on division while everyone gives up and puts their spines on the cocktail table. People need to go to the southside and see the wreckage done to his so-called ‘own’ people, how they froze and buildings got condemned while he got big donations from the ‘broke’ contractors/managers. Imagine him with a country. And those thinking ‘oh after four years they’ll beg for us to be in’, we don’t have that luxury now... they need to open their eyes.

I love protest voters, it accounts for the wonderful state we’re in on the hill now. Those who were bulldogs are stepping down because they have no help, some we stood by and helped the dems take out. Everytime we call for one in D.C., at a MSM location, the UN, embassy, no one wants to come. Every town has representatives and press close to them, nothing stops them. Sure we work, but it’s important to make your voice heard on an issue, sadly most conservatives and republicans don’t answer the call.
This is for future generations, not all about us.

His legacy?

All he has done is replicate the LBJ Administration - even unto his personal life.

Gads - I even gave money to the Swift boat guys to help his Texan into office.

Overall, I suspect history will recognize we haven't had another 9-11, but his Amnesty policies destroyed this nation....

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Nucular is an ad hoc spelling of an incorrect pronunciation of the word nuclear, representing the IPA: /ˈnjuːkjələr/ (NEW-cue-lurr) pronunciation of that word instead of the correct /ˈnjuːkliːɚ/ (NEWK-lee-urr). This pronunciation is disapproved, although some dictionaries recognize it because of its increasing usage.[1]

Oh dear!!!

I did not know Bush was literate…Honestly. At what elementary grade school level?

He must have attend one of those “No child left behind” schools.

I can picture Karl, The Wrecking Ball of the Republican Party Rove, sitting next to Bush’s bed as Bush is falling asleep reading to him bedtime stories. (“This little piggy went to market..”)

Ten to God knows how many illegal aliens later, I find myself avoiding threads like this instead of trying to talk reality to folks who haven't the slightest grasp of it.

You're right on the money bud, but it won't make a bit of difference for those who idolize the man to the point they create shrines to him every day, and pray for him instead of the nation.

Just sad.

This make-believe speech is such fertile ground... whew!

George Bush will go down as one of the best presidents. His legacy will suffer for his weak border enforcement and failure to veto excessive spending, but he will be honored for his early recognition of the global threat that is Islamic radicalism, and his willingness to do something about it and stand by his principles despite endless criticism from foolish September 10th politicians and critics. He will also be recognized for his success at reviving and economy after the September 11th disaster, and for his success at keeping Americans safe and terror free during his term.

first I voted for him twice..and got what i deserve
open borders
massive government programs
massive government debt
illegals stealing government services
loss of private property rights
loss of millions of manufacturing jobs
gutting of our manufacturing base
billions spent for Foreign aid (aids in africa)

on the plus,,no new 9/11’s, Iraq Saddam's government gone,
libya disarmed, lower taxes..and 2 new supreme court
justices who might just be better than average.time will tell.

I do not know what history will show, but I do know I will not vote the lesser of two evils again, never again.

Ummm ... Okay.

The Mulligan Fairy has just granted you a do-over. The Bush victory has been reversed.

This is what your world looks like now:

open borders
massive government programs
massive government debt
illegals stealing government services
loss of private property rights
loss of millions of manufacturing jobs
gutting of our manufacturing base
billions spent for Foreign aid (aids in africa)

AND, AS AN ADDED BONUS,

new 9/11’s
Iraq Saddam's government now possibly nuclear armed and controlling the Persian Gulf oil supplies
libya nuclear armed
drastically higher taxes
..and 2 new Supreme Court justices who will steer America hard to the Left for decades to come.

As Voltaire said, "The perfect is the enemy of good enough."

The world is not perfect. Never was. Never will be.

Sometimes, when a 16-wheeler is coming straight at you in your lane at 70 MPH and you are driving 55 MPH, the choices are to do absolutely nothing and crash, head on, into the 16-wheeler ahead of you at a combined 125 MPH, swerve to the right and crash, head on, into the SUV in the other lane at a combined 110 MPH, or swerve to the left and crash into the cornfield at 55 MPH.

None of those are perfect choices, they could even be called "evil" choices, but two of them are clearly much more catastrophic than the third.

In all the bad consequences of your first list, not a single innocent life was lost.

In the consequences of the second list, thousands of innocent lives are lost plus the added millions of lives of the unborn caused by abortion on demand.

Come Judgment Day, when you explain about the "Lesser of Two Evils Philosophy" will you be able to justify the Evil of millions of lives lost as a result abortion on demand as analogous to the "Evil" of "open borders, massive government programs, massive government debt, illegals stealing government services loss of private property rights loss of millions of manufacturing jobs, gutting of our manufacturing base. and billions spent for Foreign aid (aids in africa)"?

While he's doing that, he wants to give Iraq to al Qaeda, Afghanistan to the Taliban, Israel to the Palestinians, and your money to the IRS so the government can give welfare to illegal aliens, who he will make into citizens, so they can vote to reelect him.

While the satirical speech is mostly correct - part of the above quote sounds like GW's position as well - ie - welfare to illegal aliens, making citizens of illegals, and giving Israel (at least a chunk of it) to the Palestinians.

Actually - more accurate would be:

I can’t believe GW Bush and the Republicans squandered away so much opportunity with the White House and a majority in the House and Senate...
