Very sad that there are black people in this country who will simply vote for someone based on their race. It is as racist for a person to not vote for someone based simply on the color of their skin...Yet, they can not see the parallel. It says a lot about people like that...Ignorant and racist, just like Obama and his wife.

and 95% of the musicians involved in the BETs will be black.

I won't even challenge you to name 5% of the white winners from the BET awards.

I'll just challenge you to name ONE!

I'll be waiting...

The BET Awards have only been around since 2001 - seven years. No black entertainer has won a CMA award in well over seven years.

And the BETs have nominated more white entertainers in the past 7 years than the CMAs have nominated black entertainers.

That doesn't mean either award committee is racist.

You sure keep trying to put lipstick on a pig...

From BET's own web site:

With a mission to build a global distribution footprint beyond our current carriage of 85 million homes in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean, BET International is licensing BET content to television broadcasters on multiple platforms, developing distribution opportunities for 24-hour BET branded networks, BET branded TV blocks, and BET branded broadband and mobile offerings - adding locally derived content to the US mix - all to serve consumers of black culture globally.

Where does the CMA web site talk about "serving the consumers of white culture globally"?

No, I'm pointing out why the kneejerk assumptions of conservatives who feel rather than think are wrong.

Where does the CMA web site talk about "serving the consumers of white culture globally"?

The CMAs serve the consumers of only one slice of white culture - they cannot truthfully claim to represent consumers of classical music, klezmer, ceilidh, German Expressionist film, etc.

BET, on the other hand, is attempting to offer the entire spectrum of contemporary black cultural products to its consumers. Including the products of white artists performing in black cultural idioms, like Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake.

To: Theodore R.

“He will have the greatest cheerleaders ever in entertainers, news media, and other celebrities who will declare him successful no matter what happens in his tenure. The American people will never figure it out”

Just like with Kerry.
