Republican Presidential Candidate Singles Out Chicago In Statement Praising Supreme Court Ruling -

Gun Rights Ruling May Change Chicago Law -

ARLINGTON, Va. (CBS) ― U.S. Sen. John McCain said Thursday that the Supreme Court ruling in favor of gun ownership showed that the Chicago handgun ban has "infringed on the constitutional rights of Americans."

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee called the ruling a "landmark victory for Second Amendment freedom in the United States."

"For the first time in the history of our Republic, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed that the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms was and is an individual right as intended by our Founding Fathers," McCain said in a statement.

He criticized Sen. Barack Obama for not signing a bipartisan amicus brief supporting the ruling later issued by the Supreme Court, and singled out the Chicago ban in describing what the ruling should change.

"Today's ruling in District of Columbia v. Heller makes clear that other municipalities like Chicago that have banned handguns have infringed on the constitutional rights of Americans," McCain said in the statement.

Glad McCain is talking like a conservative Republican.

Hope we get more talk like this from him.

GW has received the affirming of the second amendment by his SCOTUS appointments for the FIRST TIME in the history of our nation. GW was also the ONLY POTUS to win a victory through SCOTUS against abortion with his appointments. Glad I voted for you twice GW!

I keep hoping, deep down inside, that maybe just maybe McCain was just mad about how he got rooked by Bush and the GOP in SC in 2000, and that his whole "maverick" image was just temperamental payback, and that once it "hits" him that he really does have the nomination, he'll mellow and go back to being the more conservative politician he was pre-2000.

Needless to say, I'm not holding my breath.

Trust your most astute musings ... he is already showing signs of changing his mind back to previous positions ... like with energy policy. John MCCain is at least 100% more conservative than the empty suit democrap puppet.

Obama: 'What Works In Chicago May Not Work In Cheyenne'

Try getting Obama Hussein to apply that statement to.....errrrrr.....say Abortion Laws for states.

But ah yes, there is a glittering "Right to Privacy" that is unspoken of in the Constitution. It is right there in the "Emanations of the Penumbra."
