From Ron Paul to Obama it was a little step for you, wasn’t it?

McCain should advocate an end to the federal income tax system in favor of a national sales tax. Abolish the IRS. Most voters would love this idea.

Next, after getting elected, work on dismantling the Socialist Security system. Give everyone the choice to opt out, accepting a lump sum distribution equivalent to all the money the participant has paid in over the years, plus all the money paid in by his employers, plus interest. For those already retired, this lump sum would be reduced by amounts already paid to the retireee. Close SS to new participants, but let existing participants stay in the program if they want to. Most people would take their money and invest it on their own, much the same as they do now with 401-K’s, etc. This would pump significant new private capital into our economy, creating new jobs and wealth for individuals. In about 25 years or less there would be no one left in the SS system.

Next, dismantle federal Medicare and Medicaid, leaving it to the sovereign states to determine what state medical insurance they wish to offer, if any.

Next, dismantle the Department of Education and all federal involvement in education.

And so on ....

In other words, let’s get back to a federal role which is consistent with the Constitution.

Huh? Where did I say I support Obama. I don't BTW. Just because I don't worship McCain as God-like and Obama as the comparative spawn of Satan in each and every case, doesn't make me an Obama supporter. Check out the word nuance in your dictionary.

I predict that Obama will, before the election, come out in favor of drilling offshore and in ANWR.

Prediction correct. He will beat McNut to the punch. McNut has an ego so huge it blocks his logical brain process. Too bad I have to vote for lame brain McNut. Damn, he is so slow.

OK PaleoBob you look like a “nice” strategist.
But nobody can tell ,even you, that your political forecastings/fictions are right(McCain>Clinton and Obama>Conservative).

You seem to give a lot of weight to your predictions.

On the other hand it is certain that Obama IS way worth and WILL harm badly USA and the world(we still feel the consequences of CARTER’s one term presidency) even if he stays for one term(WHICH IS NOT SURE AT ALL)

I can’t disagree more. Obama will get years just like Clinton did. The media will paint a picture that ‘happy days are here again’. Unless we suffer a massive terrorist attack that can be attributed to his mistakes or the economy absolutely falls to the point that Jimmy Carter looks good, the media will cover for him successfully.

He is the left most candidate in American history, and we cannot permit him to step foot in the White House.

I’m not forecasting much. If Obama wins, conservatism is perfectly positioned to dethrone him in four years. It’s the fact that he IS dangerous, will do damage, cannot govern coherently, that creates this situation. If McCain wins, conservatism will be effectively dead in the Republican party for at least 20 years, probably longer.

I’ve said before and will say again that I don’t hold any animosity against pro-McCain conservatives. But I do get tired of being called names. When you vote for McCain you are voting for a liberal—and that makes you one. Or so it might be argued. And you can say you became a liberal to stop a communist but keep in mind it never worked. If Alexander Karensky was still alive you could ask him. Or you could ask Dubcek if he were alive in Prague.

The first tenet of conservatism is anti-communism and that is what defeats communism and only that—conservatism. Not the stuff McCain peddles. McCain is precisely what makes extreme leftism inevitable. Again, I’m not predicting much. I’m expressing a preference for fighting Obama now rather than Hillary later. I’m also ready for the next fight. I have one vote, like you all. I can’t stop Obama or put McCain in the White House with my vote. I see much less difference between the two of them than you do since one leads to the other. What I can do is be ready to fight for a conservative outcome in 2012, which is the next chance I’ll possibly have.

You wanna vote for McCain, fine. I swore I’d never bash anyone for doing it. But I will warn you. Prepare to hold your noses for at least four years, not just one day. More likely, you’ll be holding them for 12.

If McCAIN is elected i will NOT hold my nose for 4 years.
I will go on fighting for values i believe in when necessary!
And i think that i will surely “hold my nose” much more longer and stronger with oSbama

With all due respect, if McCain is elected, and provided your values are conservative values, you will not win those fights. And there will be little future for those values since McCain’s very election will have convinced the Repukes to cut the conservatives loose permanently.

If McCain loses, however, in 2012, and if your values are conservative, you will have a real chance to fight successfully for most if not all of those values when a conservative is selected to oppose the failed Odumbo.

In short, conservative values are DOA with McCain.

P.S. For the sake of communicating your position, I would try spelling out your values before referencing them. If you tell people you are voting for McCain and not much else, they will assume your values are liberal—like McCain’s They will assume, for instance, you favor amnesty for illegals, limits on free speech rights, that you believe in the man-made global warming hoax, etc.

As Krauthammer concisely points out, Obama is doing what every single Democrat has done since Bill Clinton: Triangulating to win. Just put out a nibble here and there, enough to appease the Uncomfortable and Uneasy Evangelicals, Gun Owners, and any other demographic you can think of that would normally brand this candidate certifiably insane.

...In other words, as Rush Limbaugh has said time and again, Liberals have to LIE in order to conceal who they really are. And Obama is certainly no exception.

Either way, she was annoyed, dismayed and p-ssed to be lied to.

Your friend shows promise but the sad fact is, the majority of liberal and "moderate" voters, especially female, want to be lied to. This was empirically proven by the two Clinton victories.
