D.C. delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton's comments are absurd and idiotic. Actually, "idiotic" is putting it mildly.

Anyone listening to this woman through the years would not find this the least bit surprising. I've watched her sit on committees during various hearings and she never, ever has any idea what she is talking about.
I’ve watched this woman ‘debate’ on TV... I would put money down that she has the lowest IQ in all of congress and possibly all of the East coast.
DC has the city government it deserves IMO.
Sometimes when the word “idiotic” and “D.C.” appear in the same sentence, we know the American people have failed.
I did not listen to the interview. I’ve heard enough of her to know she’s a dope. However, if the title is true, I would have to agree with her. Since the residents of the city have not been allowed to own handguns and the criminals have been out there using them they probably are more skilled in using their arms. She’s brought up a good point for once. Washington D.C. needs to address this problem. Mayor Fenty, please give out tax credits for any entreprenuer out there willing to build a good rifle and pistol range within the city limits for D.C. residents to be properly trained in the use of their firearms.

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton Responds to Gun Ruling
Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) responded with the following statement:
“Fortunately, the expected overturn of the District’s absolute gun ban leaves considerable room for new, strict hand gun bans and other gun restrictions here. Despite the use of guns far more often for domestic violence and suicides than for self defense in the home, the Court rests its major holding that hand guns without trigger locks are permitted in the home, on the right to self defense at home. However, because, as the court says, there never was a ‘right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever for whatever purpose,’ the District may continue to regulate handguns and other weapons in the home and elsewhere through licensing requirements. Moreover, the Second Amendment restriction applies only to weapons ‘in common use at the time...that were ‘dangerous and unusual.’”

“Thus, the District may continue to ban and confiscate automatic and semiautomatic guns from all locations, including homes.The decision’s most serious effect is the increase in handguns in the home, where guns typically do the greatest damage in this country that the ruling will inspire. Today’s decision is likely to encourage law abiding people to buy guns, with the likelihood that the ruling will produce an increase in accidents and gun violence among family members and even neighbors, as some in the rush of anger, fetch the guns to escalate or settle a dispute.
“Fortunately, most handgun laws in the U.S. will not be affected by today’s decision. Today’s ruling turned on the absolute nature of the District ban and largely has the effect of encouraging the District to bring its laws into line with many others in this country, and to go even further than many.”
Now the District will make it nearly impossible for people to buy or have guns. They will make it impossible for gun shops to open within city lines.
Richmond, VA is south DC when it comes to the city government it deserves. Bring back spelling with Councilman Chuck.

She is a blithering idiot. She has no clue about the rest of the country. DC is a third world country and it’s because of people like her that this is the case.

Complaining that the Supreme Court enforced one amendment in the founders’ Bill of Rights. It’s traditional for liberals and leftists to disregard any law they don’t like. This is a sore loser surrounding her anger with seemly language.
A liberal politician siding with thugs instead of law abiding citizens. She must be one of those “Marion Barry was innocent” supporters.

For the sake of argument, let's assume that is true. The next question is -- Whose Fault Is That Del. Norton?
But not to worry Del Norton, with a little range time the good guys will catch up. And I mean "a little" as your 'thugs' don't even know how to properly hold or aim a handgun (hint; it ain't sideways).

....it begs the question....is there ANY city out there where black Democrats have legally siezed power that isn’t broken?....and as the Chocolate cities become more unlivable, street scenes from the movie “Escape From New York” look more believable every day.
