Here in VA Beach we have hundreds of miles of bike paths..but the spandex clad bike weenies still insist on riding in the road and blocking traffic. Any one of them who get clobbered by a car will get no sympathy from me.

I have the same problem with the Spandex-butts-in-the-air crowd.

Arrogance, stupidity and a willingness to argue about it surpassing the average liberal weenie.

Mine was a blow out on the rear tire at 45mph. I lost the bike somehow and ended up riding on it laying on the ground (the bike, not me) and it hit a concrete wall that I flipped over. lol

It looked pretty comical I’m sure, and I was ok, and walked away. Bike was scraped up a bit, but I was able to replace the tire later, ride it home and sell it. I was done.

I’ve had a worse accident on a bicycle.. at 50 mph, no helmet no helmet no helmet no helmet but I’m fine now fine now fine now fine now fine now fine now ...

Motorcycles are dangerous and the road hazards are getting moreso. Almost half of I575 has what I call cheese grater slings up and down the middle. There little I beams embedded in the ground every 10-12 feel with four 1/2 steel braided cables stetched through holes in each all anchored in the ground every half mile or so. These are great for stopping trucks and cars crossing the median into the oncoming lane, but I”m waiting to see what these cheese graters (think I-beam rough rasp with four guide cables that will slide you to the next one) do to a motorcycler that happens to have the misfortune to slide into one. Pure Nasty!

yuk. bad news. Why do road planners put that crap into the ground? I’d rather hit a wall than be shredded.

This particular road has long straight sections that separate a couple of cities 50-60 miles north and Atlanta/Marietta, Georgia and many of these commuters have
long, early drives. You wouldn’t believe how many crosses etc. are up and down that road from people just running off the road, across the road, etc....it seems that they’re in such a hurry in the morning that they make some very bad choices. These cheese graters are an attempt to keep them on the road — but I don’t think anyone ever thought what would happen with a motorcycle....
