ROANOKE Call it two-wheel road rage.
A Keller bicyclist was cited for simple assault Saturday after he threw a water bottle at a motorist who he believed had cut him off.
Several cyclists were riding about 9:30 a.m. in the 400 block of Ashley Lane when a Toyota driven by a 43-year-old Trophy Club woman veered in front of them, according to a police report.
One bicyclist pursued the motorist and got her to stop a few blocks away, the report states.
The bicyclist threw the bottle, which went through a window and struck the woman.

“Cyclists can be so asinine. So many of them think they own the roads.”
I understand that we have to share the road with them, and I’m respectful of that but when you get into a situation where there may be a close call, etc, the biker should logically back off....two ton car vs 50 lb bike...no brainer there.

So what’s a “Trophy Club” woman? Is she some kind of topless dancer or something ???
She was a Trophy Club wife. ;)
Cyclists have as much right to be on the road as cars, and they are supposed follow the rules of the road like other vehicles. But, throwing your water bottle or anything else at someone is wrong, period. He should be cited. If she cut him off, she should be cited as well for reckless endangerment.
By the way, those of you who are teaching your children to RIDE on the WRONG side of the road against the traffic are also wrong and you’re going to get your kids (or the adults that are still doing it) KILLED.
You WALK on the opposite side of the road, against the traffic, you RIDE your BIKE WITH the flow of traffic.
Sounds like a B movie. ATTACK OF THE SPANDEX TERROR!
Sitting in the turn lane of a busy street before dawn waiting for your light to turn green so you can turn. It turns green, you beging to move forward and then SLAM on your brakes because some idiot on a bike decides "hey! I don't have to pay attn to that RED light!!" Needless to say, if my sister, who was sitting next to me, had not seen the guy, he'd be dead.
Yes, and an even larger number of car drives are the same, if not worse. I'm not one of those spandex and helmet wearing bicycle freaks. But any time I try pedaling my old Schwinn to the grocery store, I'm thankful to arrive home alive.
There is actually a town called Trophy Club Texas....
I understand that some bicyclists can get going at a pretty good clip but still.
And then to get her to stop, what did he do, pull in front of her?
Sounds to me like he chased her to a stop sign or stop light, approached, and then threw the water bottle.
But what do I know. I wasn't there.
Schwinn......
Bikes should be restricted to the sidewalk or other bike paths distinct from the road. If they insist on riding on roads, they should be forced to have PIP insurance.
LOL!
