NEW DELHI Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, already running ahead of his Republican rival John McCain in international popularity, has won a host of new fans in India since a photo published earlier this month revealed that he carries a tiny brass monkey king among his handful of good-luck charms.
In India the charm is presumed to be an image of Hanuman, Hinduism's popular monkey god. So on Tuesday, a delighted Brij Mohan Bhama, a politician associated with India's ruling party and a devotee of Hanuman, decided to boost Obama's mojo (and chances in November) by presenting the Illinois senator with a 2-foot-high gold-plated Hanuman idol, blessed by a dozen Hindu priests in a special prayer service.

Maybe it’s just a Michael Jackson fetish.
This is one confused and conflicted person. He has a maximum case of “identity crisis.”
Black/White?
Muslim/Christian?
Allah/Jesus/Monkey God?
Straight/__________?
No wonder he has such bizarre interpretations of the Bible - like beleiving that the Sermon on the Mount okays homosexuality...
This is the kind of post that the leftists will use against FR. I have to wonder if people post maliciously these things to tarnish us, or if some of our posters are just this stupid.
If obama sees the t shirt he will git mad.
Obama seems to be a bit thin skinned.
a Japanese mobile phone company was forced to withdraw a TV commercial depicting a monkey as a political candidate calling for people to change their mobile phone carrier. Dr. Howard Dean informed us that viewers might link the monkey with Senator Obama and his call for change, said Isura Yakimoro, spokesman foe eMobile. He explained that this is unacceptable because in America all monkey or ape references have been reserved for use when mentioning President Bush. Apparently, it is a matter of copyright infringement.

Is this why is appears in photos like Obama is using mudras?
Of interest. “Lord” Hanuman is called Pavan-suta or Pavanputra which means “Son of Air/Son of Wind god”. Who else fits that description?
Ephesians 2:2
“...IN WHICH YOU ONCE WALKED ACCORDING TO THE COURSE OF THIS WORLD, ACCORDING TO THE PRINCE OF THE POWER OF THE AIR (Satan), THE SPIRIT WHO NOW WORKS IN THE SONS OF DISOBEDIENCE.”

That fist-pumping gesture he and his wife do is the secret hand sign of the monkey-idol worshippers?
This just gets weirder and weirder.
“...This just gets weider and weirder.”
WOW. Check this out, just found it on the web.
“Fearless” mudra t-shirt, (elect Obama.)

This is the mudra Obama seems to use quite often.
According to Hindu belief, “Hanuman is the provider of “hope”, courage, devotion and intellect.”

It sounds like something from The Onion.
What's next, everyone has to get branded with its likeness to "buy or sell"?
“Has anyone managed to get a photo of the actual monkey-god idol? Or of Obama wearing it?...”

Not good to mock.
I have never seen an odder election season.
Bread and circus elections... What good is bread without the Circus.
