And Now, For Obama's Next Flip-Flop: Iraq [Krauthammer Alert]
Investor's Business Daily ^ | July 3, 2008 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 07/04/2008 5:41:11 AM PDT by Zakeet

You'll notice Barack Obama is now wearing a flag pin. Again. During the primary campaign, he refused to, explaining that he'd worn one after 9/11 but then stopped because it "became a substitute for, I think, true patriotism."

So why is he back to sporting pseudo-patriotism on his chest? Need you ask? The primaries are over.

While seducing the hard-core MoveOn Democrats that delivered him the caucuses — hence, the Democratic nomination — Obama not only disdained the pin. He disparaged it. Now that he's running in a general election against John McCain, and in dire need of the gun-and-God-clinging working-class votes he could not win against Hillary Clinton, the pin is back. His country 'tis of thee.

[Snip]

Obama's seasonally adjusted principles are beginning to pile up: NAFTA, campaign finance reform, warrantless wiretaps, flag pins, gun control. What's left?

Iraq. The reversal is coming, and soon.

Two weeks ago, I predicted that by Election Day Obama will have erased all meaningful differences with McCain on withdrawal from Iraq. I underestimated Obama's cynicism. He will make the move much sooner.

He will use his upcoming Iraq trip to acknowledge the remarkable improvements on the ground and to abandon his primary season commitment to a fixed 16-month timetable for removal of all combat troops.

The shift has already begun. On Thursday, he said that his "original position" on withdrawal has always been that "we've got to make sure that our troops are safe and that Iraq is stable." And that "when I go to Iraq, I'll have more information and will continue to refine my policies."

[Snip]

Done. And with that, the Obama of the primaries, the Obama with last year's most liberal voting record in the Senate, will have disappeared into the collective memory hole.

In other words, lie through his skinny ass about what he stands for, only for votes, only to get into the House in the D.C. Hood, where he then can show his true Muzzie and Marxist colors.

Great cartoon. What Berserk Obeyme stands for is the antithesis of our country’s origin.

Obama is showing himself to be a spineless toady who will say anything (and probably do anything) to get elected. The good news is if you don’t like his policies/positions wait a while... he’ll change. Of course, if you do like them don’t get too comfortable... he’ll change those too.

The following should be a standard response to anyone in your place of work who asks the following question (or one like it):

“What is Obama’s position on___________?”

RESPONSE: “What day is it?”

Obama is a typical, lying, self-centered politician. In other words, a typical far-left Democrat.

How strong would this country be if there were more Dims like Zell Miller?

“once he gets there he will have to figure out what he really believes.”

And he won't have long. North Korea, Iran, Somalia, etc. all have leaders who will test him early on to see what he is made of... Charisma won't work with guys who really play by “Chicago Rules”.

I sure do hope that the average American citizen out there wakes up and pays attention to this idiot. He scares the heck out of me and I’m really afraid that there are too many lazy people that like the thought of having everything done for them. That is what 60 years of liberalism has done to us. I’m tired of my hard earned money paying for them. It’s funny. I will complain about these things and I will get these people giving me the look of “I can’t believe how insensitive you are!” I tell them that I am not insensitive, I’m all for helping someone who REALLY needs help, not lazya$$ people.

Obama's FIRST Flip-Flop: IRAN...

May 18, 2008: Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, these countries are tiny compared to the Soviet Union. They don't pose a serious threat to us. ...they spend 1/100th of what we spend on the military. I mean, if Iran ever tried to pose a serious threat to us, they wouldn't stand a chance.

May 20, 2008: Iran is a grave threat. It has an illicit nuclear program. It supports terrorism across the regions and militias in Iraq. It threatens Israel's existence. It denies the Holocaust.

IN A TIME OF WAR JOHN MCCAIN SERVED AND SUFFERED FOR HIS COUNTRY.

WHILE BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA SERVED HIMSELF...AND STILL DOES.

Well, Charles has hit the nail right slap-dab on the head, as usual. But, what will be really interesting, will be watching the MSM get all twisted up in knots trying to spin BHO’s “refined policy” on the war. And all those anti-war supporters? Wonder if there’s any more room under the bus for them?
Oh, and maybe somebody should give a “wake-up” call to the McPain staff....2nd thought, maybe not. They would only botch it up, per usual.

i disagree with the tag line on krauthammers article.

the day obama is elected, is the first day of his campaign to get re elected to a second term.

so you wont see any difference.

whatever makes sense from polling or political pov will be his position.

speaking the “hard truths”. dont make me laugh.

Flipper Theme Song:

They call him Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightning,
No-one you see, is smarter than he,
And we know Flipper, lives in a world full of wonder,
Tricks he will do when children appear,
And how they laugh when he's near!

if there were more Dims like Zell Miller?

What a great fantasy. There would be no or minimal Federal income tax, fewer federal bureaucracies, you could own all the guns you wanted and take them anywhere you went, crime rates would be nearly zero, and I wouldn't have to worry that my children will have to fight for their freedom against an all powerful government that has enslaved them. I could live with that.

DaNCe Studio

Dems can rumba. Dems can samba.
Can they dance the chic OBAMBA?

Can they follow their “change” master
As he spins around much faster?

If he guides them to the right
Will they slide from him with fright?

Dems preferred the macarena.
Which was not so insane-a.

The contemporaneous picture of John McCain and Barack Obama is revealing.

John McCain endured captivity in service to the United States while...

...Barack Hussein Obama studied the Koran in a "nonradical" madrassa in Indonesia.

I sure do hope that the average American citizen out there wakes up and pays attention to this idiot.

The problem is that by Fall his position on Iraq will hardly differ from McCain's. The flipflop charge will mean little because the change will take one of McCain's most effective weapons out of his hands. By November you can have victory in Iraq and "Change" too. Forgotten will be "Bush's war." And the media will strive mightily to help the doofuses out there to forget.

"watching the MSM get all twisted up"

The MSM will create any "reality" that serves Obama. If Obama takes office, the "no WMD's in Iraq" "failure" will become a Pointe du Hoc ("no guns") "success". Whether a military attack is a success or failure is determined by the bias of the MSM and they can do it anytime it suits their needs and spin it any way they want.
