Yeah, deported. They take that seriously, don't they?

Time to build more jails.

Deportation does not work but the death penalty does, especially after it is carried out.

It doesn’t appear that the poor little girl was a senator’s daughter.

Sorry ‘bout that.
Business as usual.

Sometimes I despair at the world, I really do. In London alone, 18 teenagers have been killed only this year, from 9 years upwards. Mostly knifings, some shootings, and a few beatings-up.
It’s not politically correct to say so, but I blame it on:
1. violent divorces by the parents, who weren’t up to rearing kids in the first place, and stuffed them with junk food and stupid video games;
2. the easy availability of alcohol, coke, ecstasy, and all kinds of other mind-altering substances to anyone (and it’s a moderate beer-drinker and cigar-smoker talking here);
3. the horrific fear of neighbors who know very well that things are wrong but who don’t dare to call in social services for fright of being the next victim themselves.
Two generations of laissez-faire upbringing without any constraints and a steady diet of junk TV can cause all this havoc.
When I hear these street gangs being interviewed on the telly I am shocked. Because they seem from another planet. Their vocabulary is about four words; and not a single one of these words seems to bear the content, the meaning, that I or my acquaintances would ascribe to them. In other words, communication is impossible. And worse: re-education, or some form of physical boot camp, would not alter things anymore; any paediatrician or paedagogist would tell you that. Any age offers its own possibilities for proper rearing, but once it’s passed by unused, it can never be retrieved for reformation purposes.
In other words: we have two lost generations on our hands. And really, are these guys and girls tomorrows parents?

Benavidez, who is also known as Felipe Alarcon Jimenez, has already been deported once, according to court records. Under his Jimenez name, Benavidez pleaded guilty in 2007 to one count of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm from a vehicle. Two other aggravated assault charges and three other counts of discharging a firearm from a vehicle were dismissed in exchange for his plea.

In May 2007 near 1300 West and 700 South, just a few blocks from this weekend's fatal shooting, Benavidez was arrested for felony fleeing. He later pleaded guilty to that charge. Three counts of retaliation against a witness or victim were dismissed in exchange for the plea.

In 2006, Benavidez was charged with aggravated kidnapping and robbery, but the case was dismissed after the alleged victim in the case disappeared, according to court records.
