A special meeting about Dallas County traffic tickets turned tense and bizarre this afternoon.
County commissioners were discussing problems with the central collections office that is used to process traffic ticket payments and handle other paperwork normally done by the JP Courts.
Commissioner Kenneth Mayfield, who is white, said it seemed that central collections "has become a black hole" because paperwork reportedly has become lost in the office.
Commissioner John Wiley Price, who is black, interrupted him with a loud "Excuse me!" He then corrected his colleague, saying the office has become a "white hole."
That prompted Judge Thomas Jones, who is black, to demand an apology from Mayfield for his racially insensitive analogy.
Mayfield shot back that it was a figure of speech and a science term. A black hole, according to Webster's, is perhaps "the invisible remains of a collapsed star, with an intense gravitational field from which neither light nor matter can escape."

Hmmm...apparently the Zimbabwe model is being deployed here in the US. I wonder how long before the whites are driven from their property and the people are herded to the ballot box with only one candidate on the ballot.

I wonder if they just did’t know what it meant. On a realted note, years ago there was an art contest/show in our (Allegheny) County Courthouse - Pittsburgh is located here. It was about gun violence or black on black crime or something. Someone did a piece that was a respectful reinterpretation of Michaelangelo’s “Pieta.” It caused a minor controversy in the black community. Idiots are everywhere.
John Wiley Price is a good example of why the "N" word won't go away. This poor excuse for a human is a race baiting poverty pimp to rival those two pant loads, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

For just a moment I thought this was a Detroit City Council meeting. But these characters all far too articulate for Detroit government.

Hardly a reassuring thought. Furthermore, the fact they immediately assumed it had racial connotations says a lot about their own prejudices.
