In an interview with NPR's David Welna that ran today former Gov. Jesse "The Body" Ventura, Ind-Minn., says he will run for Senate, challenging incumbent Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., whom Ventura defeated for governor in 1998, as well as Democratic nominee and former Saturday Night Live humorist Al Franken.

Ventura, born Jim Janos, tells Welna that the main reason he's running is because of Coleman's support for the war in Iraq. "That's the reason I run," he says. "I run because it angers me...All you Minnesotans take a good hard look at all three of us. And you decide: if you were in a dark alley which one of the three of us would you want with you?

I can’t wait to hear Tom Barnard start ripping him again.

I don't see Ventura running as, necessarily, a bad thing.

For one thing, he is NOT a career politician.

For another, he would, probably, pull some votes from Franken.

He might surprise you though and actually win.

Oh, my prediction of the breakdown in Nov if Ventura follows through:

Coleman 45%
Franken 30%
Ventura 25%

It’s pretty obvious who wins when you have a split opposition to the incumbent.

Just ask Bush senior.

Our only source of relief. lol. It's pretty hilarious when Tom ridicules Jesse's "I hunt man"

It's amazing that some people take Ventura's moronic dementia laden ramblings for refreshing honesty. :(

In 98 he was a fresh face outsider. He’s since been outed as a lunatic.

Everyone knew he was a lunatic when he ran for Governor.

I don't give him much of a chance but with the disillusion felt by people with both major parties, I give him a chance.

He wasn't all that stable in '98. In any normal state I'd say his candidacy would be a joke. But we're talking Minnesota, where he won before. Let's just say I'm looking forward to the next few round of polls before I start to breathe easier about Coleman's re-election.

When the opposition is of similar ideology. Perot drastically cut into disgruntled GOP voters and Clinton held onto the Dukakis voters. Ventura is a moonbat and won’t have the kind of Conservative support he had in ‘98.

I was thinking, Franken actually is more mentally stable than Ventura. That’s really saying something.

Well, if this doesn’t get Norm off of his dead ass, nothing will.

Remember when Jesse made his decision not to run for re-election after his first term? His “excuse” was that he needed to be with his wife because of failing health. The truth of the matter was, that he knew that Pawlenty would kick his hiney and his ego couldn’t bear it.

Hmmmmmmm.....suddenly he’s running for national office and a six-year term. The wife must have had a miraculous recovery!!!!!

Gone fishin’........

How are Jesse's views on 9/11 playing in Minnesota?

He'll be the highest ranking 9/11 Truther running for office.
