HUNTSVILLE, Texas (Reuters) - A man convicted of murdering his adoptive parents was put to death by lethal injection in Texas on Thursday, the second prisoner executed in the state since the U.S. Supreme Court lifted an unofficial death penalty moratorium in April.
Carlton Turner's was the first of three executions scheduled for July in Texas -- the country's busiest death penalty state. Texas has 14 more executions slated for this year.
Turner, 29, was convicted of fatally shooting his adoptive parents -- Carlton Sr., 43, and Tonya, 40 -- in their Irving, Texas, home in August 1998.
Turner, 19 at the time, shot both victims several times in the head, stashed their bodies in the garage, took their cash and jewelry, and threw a party for his friends at the house.

Adios and tah-tah!
I still say they should have electric bleachers and clean out death row during halftimes during NFL games . . . sure would beat marching bands!
I remember when this happened. He was arrested after a family friend saw him driving around town in his dad’s new truck.
The family friend knew the kid was a F-up and that his dad would never have let him use it. Thought it was suspicious and called the cops.
First off; to Texas executing an orphan: HA!
Second, I wonder how this plays in the nurture vs nature debate.
May I be the first to say -
God Bless Texas!
Here in Texas we just call that: “Our Texas Rehab Program”.
......Cause the Rehabee will never do that crime again!
The world is a safer place! Only the second? They need to catch up!
Adios a-hole.
Doesn't matter much to me me if they're white, black or blue, goodbye to a terrible waste of skin.
Nature wins.
I wonder if they played Twister?
AMEN! Leave the unborn babies alone and get rid of those deserving death. It'll relieve both the criminals of their torturous life and those that suffer the real pain, the victims.
Executions seem to go up in election years.
2000 - 2007 inclusive. Executions in even years 110. Executions in odd years 86.
Executed felons have a 0% recidivism rate.
He was a bad seed
I’d like mine fried sunny side up, thank you.
