Meanwhile the donks are preventing us from drilling for oil, building nukes, building clean coal generators, etc., etc.

As noted above, they aren't the only ones saying this.

I do agree that they'll be ignored or ridiculed by the MSM.

The thing that's driving me the most nuts about this whole situation is the AGW proponents’ reaction to the cooling trend. “Global warming is causing the cooling! We need to do MORE!” and my favorite, “Isn't it interesting how the Universe counters the damage we've done!”

Never mind almost a half a million years of ice core samples and 8,000 years of tree ring data showing that we've had *many* warming and cooling trends. Never mind historical data describing the cooling and lack of sunspots. No, *we're* the problem.

It's the height of hubris to choose a global temperature within your own lifetime and declare it to be the perfect temperature for *all* time.

Right now I don't know if these people are egotistical or just plain stupid.

The pressure’s on Congress to go nuclear and to drill. The hike in gas prices may have been a blessing in disguise.

OOOHHHH kay... here in Alaska the summer has been cool (highs in the low 70s, night time temps in the 50s) and rainy. On the other hand, last winter was rather mild, no super-deep cold. So what does this mean?
During the last major ice age, central Alaska was in an ice-free pocket.

If the planet is indeed cooling, the “egotistical, plain stupid” may be exceedingly relieved that there are so many of us. If the Dems have their way and we've no new fuel sources, at least we can all huddle together to keep warm!!

According to the internet, I’m scheduled to die in Feb. 2032, so I guess I should expect a COLD funeral.

Good news! We just had an opening, and you've been moved up to June, 2027!

“It’s the height of hubris to choose a global temperature within your own lifetime and declare it to be the perfect temperature for *all* time.”

If you look at the charts for the real long term (going back 500,000 years or so) - we have had a relatively long interglacial period compared to the others that our recorded in the ice cores. About 8,000 years long (which also is about the same time as “civiliazation” —— hmmmmm!)

It wouldn’t surprise me in the least if this “cool” period is really the start of the next last glacial period (mastadons, saber tooth tigers, that kind of stuff), and not just a “minimum”. But lets hope it is not too severe. Although I suppose the “greenies” would think it was great that the polar bear habitat now included Chicago.

Central California just broke all sorts of record high overnight minimums this week. Records were broken by 5 degrees or more in lots of places.

Charlotte temperature hits 123-year low

The temperature at Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, North Carolina was 56 at about 5:30 a.m., breaking the July 2 record of 58, set in 1885. The normal low for this time of year is 70.

http://www.charlotte.com/news/story/695929.html

AND

Huge amounts of snow in the Rockies – in July! - “Loop Road in Lander, WY is normally open before Memorial Day,” says reader Thomas Morstad. “This year it’s still not open because of snow. Again, nature did not watch/read and obey the Global Warming Catastrophe.”

Going-to-the-Sun road, which connects the two sides of Glacier National Park and is usually open by the first week of June, remains closed because huge amounts of snow still blanket the Northern Rockies high country. (In part because Montana had record snowfalls this year.)

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/07/02/us/02snow.html?hp

We’ll see. If the sun keeps napping we’ll be in for a very long, harsh winter.

I just read a big story on Communized health care in the latest American Spectator. I’ve been depressed for two days.

It looks inevitable. It will make life a living hell almost immediately. And we will never get rid of it, except by revolution.

Why is it a monstrous crime for Bush to listen to a couple of phone calls of terrorists, but “social justice” if the government has custody of my entire medical history?

I am especially sickened by the fact that the U.S. Catholic bishops are supporters of Communized health care.

I would never advocate blowing up any building, but if someone said he was going to blow up something, and there was no way to stop him, I know which one I would tell him to blow up.

Wow!
Al Gore is a genius!

AL GORE STOPPED GLOBAL WARMING!

We’re all saved! :)
Lucky for us they gave him the peace prize.
