“I don’t want US Government bases in Poland or Czech Republic. We don’t need it.”

Actually, if we had a base in Poland or the Czech Republic, we could abandon Turkey and then support an independent Kurdistan with all of its free flowing oil. And wouldn’t that make all the other Muslim nations turn and take notice?

How could putting a tracking system in the Czech Republic possibly be considered an offensive threat to them.

The only logic that seems to fit is that the Russians view the Iranians as being their 'pitchfork'. As history has taught us, the Russians 'thrust their fork forward until it hits metal'. Perhaps we are learning about Russias long term plans by blocking their thrust.

“The Russians are paranoid. How could putting a tracking system in the Czech Republic possibly be considered an offensive threat to them. They love to play games. What scares me is they for so long have invented crap that is absurd then fall into actually believing it. They continue to be about the most dangerous nation on the planet.”

Well to be fair, if the Russians set up similar sites in, say, Guatemala and Costa Rica we’d be uncomfortable too (I know it’s illogical geography).

Yeah, I don’t buy into this Missle Defense in Poland and the Czech Republic as being for our good.

The #1 target the Iranians would love to hit is Israel and this system won’t protect Israel.

If the Russians set something up like this on an Island in the Gulf of Mexico we’d be freaking out and rightly so.

I think the BLITHERING IDIOTS advising Bush are trying to start shi#t with the Russians just like they did with ripping Kosovo from the Serbs.

Maybe in their minds they’re going to raise Bush’s numbers by re-igniting fear of the Ruskies. Who knows.

The Iranians are looking pretty desperate.

The cold war never ended. It probably was very foolish of me to even make the statement I made.

A fair answer. And of course since the cold war never ended it was a bit foolish of me to even phrase the question as I did.

Just who in South America is the equivalent to Iran with respect to Russia's allies in the region ? Columbia ? Have they been launching missiles while proclaiming that they will destroy Cuba ?
